I have been a great fan of western novels for quite a few years and one of my favorite western authors is James Reasoner. I have numerous western novels and when I saw this book (Walker: Texas Ranger) for a bargain price on Amazon I purchased it. I have watched the popular television show in the past with Chuck Norris, where he stars as Walker: Texas Ranger and loved it.
This 247 page paperback is based on the television character. This action packed novel begins with a bank robbery with Walker and another Texas Ranger, Trivette end up in a gun battle with some dirt bag bank robbers. After that the main story begins which is about some ruthless drug and weapon smugglers, who are transporting huge shipments of Heroin into the United States. When a young boy is accidently given a capsule which contained Heroin is hospitalized Walker and Trivette begin to investigate further into the problem. Walker finds out that two drug dealers he had put away in the past (Carlos and Ramon Garcia), are again involved in the drug trade along with someone who calls himself El Diablo (the devil).
I never give away too much information when reviewing a novel because it spoils it for the reader. If you like western action novels you should check out this one. I found it a great read.
