I read the book a few weeks ago. I actually hadn't read any romantic suspense in quite some time, so it was a bit of a departure for me, although I used to read it almost religiously at one point.
I also found it a little bit of a slow go to get into the story. I just attributed that to my not reading the genre in so long though. I did finish the book and enjoyed it. The second half goes much quicker as the action picks up. What really kept it going for me though were the secondary characters. I did like Nate, but his unrelenting self-castigation got to be a bit much at times. I understand he was still trying to deal with all the grief, but it was too much for me at times. And I really did not like the heroine at times. Yes she was grieving also, but her attitude, especially toward Nate got on my nerves. But she did redeem herself to some extent and I did enjoy the book overall. I'm looking forward to reading about the rest of the crew.
