The carmel nut bars not only sound good, they look good too!  I have that same dish! (another Thrift Store delight!)  Your blog is terrific! I'm looking forward to more good reads there!

Very nice page Pammie! smiley But where's the Walker's contest link?  I must have missed it.  We love Walker's Shortbread Cookies!

I actually made some shortbread cookies about a week ago. It was a very short easy recipe I got from "ltaste of home cookies" book. (Yes, the title is in lower case letters.)  Excellent book!  It was on sale at Michael's Crafts and I had a coupon. Recipe is on pg. 12.

My husband, who's part Scottish, was already working on the 2 boxes of Walkers that were wrapped for under the tree. The special Christmas edition with the 4 Christmas shapes; a bell, snowman, Christmas tree, and angel I think was the 4th.  Anyway, deciding he would do a side by side taste test, hubby swears the ones I made were even better than Walker's!  And while I appreciated his glowing approval, I did not agree with it. A few cookies ended up a bit scorched around the edges, and we rolled them *way* to big!  *But* they were tasty enough that I think batch #2 just might hit it!  =)
