The premise of the novel seems a little far-fetched. It is not until the reader engages all the central characters that it becomes real. The fussy, driven "father", the over-compensating "mother", the lecherous uncle and the protagonist are all more believable the more we get to know them. The sequence of plot is smooth. One wants to read more from this author!
