This was a comment on his Blog, following a question from another fan:

Author: AngusD

Comment:

Hi Paul, I don't want to go into specifics, but I'd say sales are "moderate".

The climate is tough, as you say, and people don't have a lot of disposable cash to spend on books, but I'm surviving – just. I'm going to write five Robin Hoods and then do something else (Ancient Greece) but if there is sufficient public demand for more Outlaw Chronicles, I'll happily write them.

If you want to help out, get your friends, colleagues and family into the series, the bigger the sales the more chance there is that my publisher will agree to more Robin/Alan books. That sounds very mercenary, I know, but that's the publishing world, I'm afraid.

Anyway, thanks for your support and all the best to you and yours, Angus

I like it when the decision is made for me at times.

I'm first on the WL for the first book in the series, but I'm thinking I'll probably end up getting the e-book.  And if they are "must have on the shelf" then I'll buy another copy and all the rest in paper.

I'm first on the WL for the second and third books, but now I'm feeling a little guilty about not buying any of them outright.  I think I might buy the second one for Kindle.

I've bought so many and then posted them or gave them as gifts that I finally got the first two on my kindle - so that I would keep them!

What are the odds that when the next one comes out, they'll make the first e-book a freebie?

But even if they do, can I wait that long?  Probably not.  I suspect I'll buy it before the year is out.  I'm finishing off some other books now, but that series is high on my buy list.
