The image I submitted was approved and is now appearing on this website. But I discovered that the book has the remains of a price sticker in the upper right corner. I have now removed that residue and rescanned the book and now the image is sticker free. But I think if I submit the image through the normal method that they will be rejected because the previous image was already accepted. The isbns are 0676545297 and 0676545300. If you look at the inn in the upper corner you can just barely see a whitish film over it that is the remains of the sticker. How should I proceed with this? |

Just resubmit it and tell them why. I've done that. There's never been a problem. Pat |

So you mean to resubmit through the book editing page rather than the member tools menu? The image approvers can see the comments section of the editing page? |

I don't think that any of the text goes with the image, it just goes with the data submissions. Submit the image, then send a PM to Patty P. (Patouie) and tell her why you resubmitted it and ask her to see if she can catch the image in que to approve it. She is an image approver. Just for the record, most of us image approvers WOULD approve a replacement image that had a sticker removed. We always try to have the best image available posted, so when a better image is submitted, often the submission will be approved to replace the existing image. Also to be noted: replacement images take longer than original images to be uploaded to the site. Something about the syncronization between the servers. A brand new image replacing an empty image slot (blue box graphic) is likely to show up within hours or at most within days. But for some reason, replacing an already existing image seems to take much longer for the new image to show up here. (Unfortunately, there is no way to send a note to the image approvers with an image, only a Data Edit submission has a Reason box where explanations can be typed. And if you submit an edit just to put a note about your image, it will go to the Data Approvers and the Image Approvers will likely never see it (unless someone like myself is doing both). Contacting an Image Approver like Patty P. (Patouie) isn't a bad idea, but keep in mind that she's only one of the active Approvers for the site, and it may not be her that finds the submitted image in the Approval queue -- in fact, any Approver doing approvals can come across it since submissions queue up randomly for approvals, and are not searchable. (Another note; you can tell a member is an Image Approver by the square yellow BIA icon under their name.) Last Edited on: 8/17/12 9:25 PM ET - Total times edited: 5 |

Great advice all!
Another place to submit an image, especially if there is already one in place, is at the bottom left of any page. Under "my account" click on "member tools" --> "upload book covers. We can do up to five images at a time there. |
