Oh Alex, this is just the beginning...lol  I joined in September, hit the forums in October and the games soon after and I AM HOOKED.  They are alot of fun and I have met so many nice people.  Join the game, a WL swap is a great way to get your feet wet.  That was my first swap and now MT, TBR is hitting 100 with about 30 WL books.

* I too have been here every day since I joined..lol*

Alex, we are both shivering with fear in the same corner. I've been in the games forum, read some of the rules and looked at some of the games. I was completely overwhelmed. I have yet to join in any. Don't want to screw anything up.

Aerika;  try the BUDDY SWAPS and/or the Virtual Box  first. They're not as confusing as the Elephant ones!  I've been been at PBS for one year and joined my first swap a few weeks ago!  Now, I' m in 7 of them!!!  It's really addicting and lots of fun!

UGH! I've got a number of those in my TBR, but I haven't gotten to read them yet!

Oh well... maybe next time. :(

The elephant swaps really aren't confusing.  Once you do one you totally get it, and feel free to ask tons of questions!

I was way scared of the swaps.   I finally stuck a toe in and found that while the rules ARE confusing, playing isn't!   You get a PM before it's your turn to play and they tell you what to do.     I still don't understand some of the rules in the two and three round swaps, but that doesn't stop me from playing!   And the thing that frightened me the most was messing up.   Guess what?? I've done that a few times and everyone laughs and someone gets me back on track and the game goes on.   Lots of chatter and tom-foolery in the games and a spirit of helping one another.

This is a great swap to join in for your first one.  The first Top 50 swap was my first game, and I'm hooked.  I have met many wonderful people through the games.  This one has great books and a great hostess to help you along!

Come on guys and gals!! I haven't closed signups yet. I will be closing soon.

As for not having read the book. This is a great way to put the book at the top of MT TBR! You will have the time during the swap and usually at least a week after it ends before you have to mail it out.

We really don't bite. Even if Doreen says she does. Just move quick! LOL

I've ventured over there several times to look around, but everything seemed very confusing to me - so I figured I'd better be safe than sorry and stay away!

The mere thought of swaps kind of makes me have a panic attack. It sounds fun, but I am afraid my pregnant brain can't comprehend. :)

A virtual box is a great one....since all you need to do is pick books you want to read, and replace them with ones you want to trade!  It's basically the same thing as buying and posting books on PBS the regular way, except you get to hear recommendations from other players and the more rounds you play, the more new books you get exposed to!

Come try it out, if  you like mysteries and/or thrillers....signups still open! http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=99357
