I just wanted to let all my dear friends here on the forum know that I had a bit of bad news health wise today.  After a terrific run of being in remission for over 2 and a half years it looks like my cancer has gone active again.  My blood markers were elevated from what they have been recently.  The good news is that my CT scan 2 weeks ago was totally clean so anything bad is below the 1 millimeter level.  I guess that's why they track cancer markers so things can be caught super early.  Also fortunately, the type of cancer I have is  sensitive to 2 new antibody drugs that have shown great success.  This is antibody treatment not traditional chemotherapy so I won't lose my hair this time!  While this is a shock to me and my family I am determined to once again "gird my loins" and haul out that Thor's Hammer amulet for another round of fighting.  Luckily we are all heading to Orlando next Monday for a family reunion vacation at Walt Disney World.  I am so grateful to have something wonderful to focus on before this all starts up again.  Watch out Minnie and Mickey...here I come!

Thanks everyone!  We have an early direct flight out tomorrow so hopefully we will get out before the worst of the snow arrives.  Our first stop is at EPCOT for the last day of the Food and Wine Festival so I will be channeling awesome gastronomic delights to you all.

Cheryl, I was just thinking about you the other day.  I haven't been active on the board in awhile. I was wondering how you were doing. I'm going through my C scare right now. I mentioned it to the doctor and she said it would show up in the mammo (no manual breast exam).  Well it didn't and the lump has gotten bigger.  I work for a medical imaging company (you would recognize the name) in the ultlrasound dept.  I had my coworker scan me and she said get to the doctor ASAP. Well, to make a long story short I'm going to the breast center, I have had another UL and mammo (it showed up this time).  My biopsy is Thurs.  They said it doesn't look good and they are really glad I came in.

Cheryl, what a bum piece of of news. But it sounds like you already have a plan in motion, with reason to expect good results. So set your mind at ease as best you can and enjoy your family and some beautiful Florida sunshine! Linda & I are thinking about you and we will look forward to your updates.

We got back from our Disney family adventure yesterday exhausted, footsore and totally happy.  There weren't too many meltdowns from the granddaughters although the baby doesn't like dark "theater" type spaces; and no meltdowns from the adults!  Seeing my oldest granddaughter's face when she met Cinderella was worth it's weight in gold.  Jan- sadly the bagpipers in Canada didn't get their contract renewed by Disney so there is a lumberjack show now (meh).  I LIKED THE OFF KILTER BOYS TOO!  The orange slushy thing in France was quite delicious as was the spicy shrimp and veggie dish at the Australia booth.
