Ok, I apologize if this isn't the place to post this, but I didn't think it was fitting anywhere else.

I'm looking for your opinions on good audio books on CD (not cassettes) for a mom & daughter (ages 63 & 35) cross-country road trip. My parents are ones who just sit in their cars with no radio, no music, NOTHING and that would drive me nuts after just 10 miles. When I'm not reading real books, I like to listen to them in the car. I can't quite figure out what to order for our trip. Any suggestions? Here's what wouldn't work - anything horror, anything political, anything western, any romance. Jewish topics OK, French-related topics OK (though not learning how to speak, since my mom was a French teacher her whole life). Just some interesting stuff, maybe something that grabs attention, not too sappy, etc. Please only suggest books that are available to order -- I know audios are some of the hardest to come by and my WL is maxed out 24/7 with regular books.

Feel free to IM me directly, as I do not always follow the threads. Thanks, I look forward to your suggestions!

I have several audio on my shelf from different genre, some you mentioned above and some  you didn't.  Cage of Stars, Tim Russett, and Joshua are a few of the ones not in categories listed above.

I like to listen to Harlan Coben books. I don't have any but there are a few available. Edited to correct spelling

Audio books galore.  The Little Princess, Dawn O'hara the Girl Who Laughed, That Affair Next Door, many classic favorites.  All books are free yes
