Hi, I used a teachers resource book on teaching the letters. And it had alot of hands on things you could do for each letter. Like for B, you cut out a large B from cardboard and glued buttons on it. Then you made banana faces for a snack and used paper bags and made bunny puppets. I also got a shoe bag with 26 pockets and put beanie babies or small stuffed animals in each pocket, starting with A in the first pocket. Then we would hide little objects that started with a in plastic eggs or sandwich bags around the house and have a treasure hunt for them. I always tried to teach one letter sound at a time. With preschoolers, they sometimes tell you to teach all the consonants first. The most important thing to do with preschoolers is to read to them and explore the outdoors together. I am sooo excited about unit studies. So we learned about apples and Johnny Appleseed with A. We went to the library and checked out books on each letter of the alphabet. And I let my son help me make applesauce. Three can be such a fun time to spend time learning about the flowers and bugs and trees. We studied acorns, and ants and had an ant colony. Well, I hope I gave you something that will help. You really do not need workbooks at that age. Just some good teachers resources with crafts to make. Blessings to you and your little one Tricia
