My local MOMS Club and I are trying to get books for a local charity that gives them away to children esp around Christmas time. For each child they service to recieve 2 books they need to get 14,000. If you would like to donate books, credits, or offer a deal please PM me. Last year some of the books we sent to kids looked really pittiful. It would be wonderful for the kids to recieve nice, new looking books.

I am currently in the process of reading some of my WL books to get some credits so I can start ordering for this. We are having our drive in Sept to take the books in Oct so right now I'm casually going at it however in July and Aug I will be buying credits to get more deals. If you would be interested in helping please REPLY HERE (and in PM if you'd like) and I will go down the list. I'll send you a PM when I have the credits to start ordering.

I know childrens books are hard to keep new looking and I am not asking for books that have to look brand new but would like NEWER LOOKING books please. These children will love anything but if they think this is a brand new book just for them they will cherish it even more.

Thanks to anyone that helps out!

ETA: Any age range would be great. From picture books to YA and everything between. The Eveline Rivers Project helps children of all ages.

UPDATE ~~~~~ We had our board meeting tonight and we are also helping provide school supplies to the ERP so our drive is now going to be in AUGUST. I'm going to transfer some money to paypal right now and start ordering next week.

Here is the charity's website http://www.evelineriversproject.org/needs.php that is the needs list and the books are listed about half way down.

I have a couple of childrens books posted. If you see any of interest, just PM and I'll set those aside until you have the credit(s). I also have some not listed that are considered 'unpostable' in pbs guidelines.

What age children's books?

The floor of my room is currently covered in kid's books I'm sorting. I had another member interested, but I don't think I have very many of the type she wanted.  I swear there is at least one more box in the garage with the board books, but I can't find it. :P

I have to do a second sort soon of condition (first was attempting to age-splitting).  I can pull out books of the age/condition you are interested in and set them aside.

Sarah - I have many kids books on my shelf and would love to work a deal with you.  The majority of the books are in good or excellent shape.  Just PM me when you are ready.

I can not belive the response I've already recieved THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH! I posted in my original post but I'll add it here

ANY AGE RANGE IS FINE. Board books, just learning to read, and YA are all great. The ERP helps children ages 0-18.

I am about to head to work but I will check everyone's shelves in the next day or two and let you know which ones I'd be interested in and then I'll PM you when I have the credits to order them.

Thanks again. These children will be so, so greatful.

I have many children's books on my shelf.  I'll be more then happy to cut deals.  Most of my books are brand new since I do tend to over-order from Scholastic.  I give each of my 7th graders a new book to read over the Winter Break -so I'm always taking advantage of any specials they are running.  I even have multiples of certain books - I just need to check my cabinets to see titles.

I have 9+ children's books on my shelf...they are all in vg to great, even new...plus a couple decent unpostables, one that complete's a series, and one that is perfect, but does not include non-media items and therefore unpostable.  Anyway, if 3 for 1 plus unpostables is helpful, let me know!

Thought I'd mention, they are a variety of age ranges, too.

Hi, Sarah!

I'm in a local MOMSclub too & I think this is a really great idea for your charity project!  :)

I have 10 ARC's (Advanced Reader Copies) of some recently released (between 10/08 & 5/09) "tween" books that are in like-new condition (read only by my daughter).   Since I cannot post them because they are ARC's, I thought this would be a great way to pass them on all at once (and help out a charity too!)

Please PM me to let me know if you're interested & I'll hold them for you (I was going to post them here anyway, but going to help charity would be great...)

Thanks!

Debbie

3 for 1 on these titles:

Rune Warriors   by James Jennewein & Tom S. Parker   (311 p.)

Faery Rebels/Spell Hunter   by R.J. Anderson  (329 p.)

Waggit Again   by Peter Howe  (292 p.)

The Leanin' Dog   by K.A. Nuzum  (263 p.)

The Magic Thief/Lost   by Sarah Prineas  (397 p.)

The Lucky Ones   by Stephanie Greene  (278 p.)

4 for 1 on these titles:

Forbidden Tales/Sword   by Da Chen  (229 p.)

Running Horse Ridge/Sapphire:New Horizons   by Heather Brooks  (191 p.)

Mackenzie Blue  by Tina Wells  (202 p.)

Freaky Monday  by Mary Rodgers & Heather Hach  (180 p.)

I also have about 70 "like-new" condition children's & "tween" books on my shelf at 4 for 1- see my shelf for details & PM if any questions...

(**UPDATE (6/15/09):  I still have 17 children's books left on my shelf after my sale- they're flying out of here!!... (plus the ones listed above... let me know if interested...)

Forgot to include the website when I posted this in the begining. I've got the page to the needs list and the books are about half way down, however they do some other really great things so feel free to take a look around the site. http://www.evelineriversproject.org/needs.php

I think I have sent a PM to everyone from here up. If I have not please let me know and I will do so.

I was going to just do this and not say anything to the MOMS Club but since I had a really great response I asked the Prez what she though about me emailing and letting people know what was going on. Well I've had a few people pitch in $5 and $10 here and there. I've been putting it in paypal and will continue to do so however it might make gaps between orders.

Also, I can't spend more than my original $20 so after that is gone it's whatever the MOMS Club ladies pitch in and whatever you all are willing to work out with me. I've written down everyone's name that has offered a deal, what deal they will give, and the books I want off of their shelf. I am starting with the best deals (I'm sure you all can understand why!) and working my way down so if you offered a 2/1 or a 3/1 it might take me a while to get to you (IF I can).

I wanted to take a minute to thank each and everyone of you again. The MOMS Club president would also like to thank you, and I'm sure each of these kids will thank you deeply! I can not believe the kindness of strangers sometimes! Hubby thought I was crazy that I was getting so excited/emotional about it. I told him that you people don't know me and don't know if this is what I'm really doing or not yet you took that step of faith because it's for children. It's just so wonderfully heart warming! Thanks again!

BTW - I really am doing this. I figure I can get about 100 books from what everone has offered. I have a 3 y.o. son and we have about 200 books right now, the last thing I want is more for us! I'm hoping to purge about half of his books to donate too! =)

ETA: If you would still like to make a deal please do so. I am hoping that more moms will pitch in some money through out the next month or so...a lot of them liked me doing all the leg work =) I also might be able to buy more credits next month. Thank you all again!
