5 stars! Set in Wales, this is the story of Lady Rosslyn of England and Lord Madoc of Wales. A marriage between the two is arranged by the King for Madoc's help in putting down an insurrection led by Lady Rosslyn's dead husband. Neither wish to marry but after meeting and having a somewhat spirited discussion, both decide to give marriage a try. Rosslyn is wary of her new husband, having suffered both mental and physical abuse at the hands of her dead husband. Madoc is also coming into this leery - having lost a wife in childbirth and also a little scared of having Rosslyn be afraid of him due to his size. Good plot with several VERY romantic moments between the two main characters. Side story of strife involving Madoc's brother. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will look for more of this authors work.

Lady Roslynn is given in marriage to Lord Madoc of Wales by the King. Her previous husband (a traitor to the Crown) was a brute and sexually assaulted her throughout her marriage so admittedly she is leery of this huge savage she is expected to marry. The courtship is romantic and strife with rural sheep farming problems pushes them together faster than I expected. But Madoc is very compassionate and understanding of her issues since he was locked into a bad marriage too and doesn't want a repeat. He is the perfect gentleman which made for a very romantic novel. Another great Medieval novel by Ms. Moore.
