Losing everything in Hurricane Katrina was mild compared to the aftermath and fate of this artist. Restoring broken stained glass windows from a church destroyed in the storm sets the stage for a life changing spiral into the world of diabolical intrigue and suspense. Gripping, suspenseful and filled with characters expertly described and crafted. A well written web of deception and betrayal.

Widow Mira Gallier lost her husband in Hurricane Katrina when he was swept away by floodwaters. It has taken years for her to get her life back on track. Her work with stained glass has helped in her recovery. When a priest is murdered and the church windows vandalized, Mira decides to help restore the windows. But as more murders take place, they seem to be linked to Mira. The police suspect her or someone close to her of being involved. Mira begins to wonder if she will be the next dead body.

This is the fourth book in the Stacy Killian series. Although Stacy only plays a minor role in this book, there are several other characters we've known from previous books. This book is a good psychological thriller. It has a handful of suspects that I had to sort through. As I read it, I came up with several different scenarios for who the killer could be. Surprisingly one of them was correct. I enjoyed the book until the last 100 pages. The heroine suffered from TSTL (Too Stupid to Live) syndrome and did the opposite of what the police told her. Also, I just didn't like how the whole story was tied up. After reading some reviews of the book, I know I'm in the minority, but I thought there were just too many lose threads. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
