A unique telling of the great flood including some very modern elements.

Sandy and Denny, twins, make the mistake of interrupting one of their father's experiments with unusual results. Somehow, the experiment has sent them elsewhere. It is up to the twins to figure out where ... and when.

It doesn't take long for them to figure out that they are in the time right before the great flood. This realization is mainly due to meeting Noah and his family since the world is not what they expected with unicorns and manticores.

The twins face many adventures including escaping from the nephilim the fallen angels, resisting the seductive invitations of Tiglah, saving Noah's unwed daughter and getting back home. They must figure out this strange world before the floods come because they know there will be no room in the ark for them.

As the fourth book in the Madeleine L'engle Time series, this book is an adventure with identical twins Sandy and Dennys, dating back in time to the days of Noah's Ark. I like the twist the author gives with a mix of Biblical stories, romance and fantasy.

Amazing book! This woman had such a great, spiritual mind. You can feel her love for God pouring out of her in every page. If you are into Christian fiction, then give this a read. There are some very beautiful moments in this book which intertwine God and His people. Even if you are not religiously inclined in any way, this is still fun fiction. It's also not too long, so it's a great weekend read.

This is number 4 in the series. I highly reccommend this for reading. I read the first 3 as a young teen and reread them again twice as an adult!

Another very good book by Madeleine L'Engle. About two teenage boys swept back to Biblical times. A meld of science and Biblical history.

Again, not as good as the first two in the series. Another quick read.

This is a companion to a Wrinkle in Time and is about the two twins who are transported back to biblical times.

Very interesting perspective on the Bible story of Noah and the flood. I really enjoyed it. I read it in one day! Madeleine L'Engle has become one of my new favorite authors.

Correction: It's only the twins that travel back in time to the pre-flood times. This book gives the reader a chance to meet and know Charles Wallace Murry and Meg Murry's twin brothers.

L'Engle's books all have great characters and vivid settings, and this is no exception. I didn't like it quite as well as A Wrinkle in Time or A Wind in the Door, but it is still well worth reading.

This young adult story is a combination of the Jewish flood myth and the theory of relativity, with some ethics, politics, sexuality, social science, and ecology mixed in. Some interesting thoughts, as well as some pretty weird ones. Not sure what the author was smoking. The merging of the story of Noah with modern physics felt forced. Oh, and i forgot to mention the angels and fallen angels that are behind much of the weird goings on, when they are not masquerading as animals. Strange.
