I have a request for a book I have and I'd like to contact the requester to ask if the book is acceptable. Is there any way to do this? The book has a couple of dime size pieces missing from the front cover. It was that way when I recieved it but I'm not real particular but I do know some people are. Should I send it or not?

The only way is to accept the request. Click on "PRINT LABEL" but  DON'T actually print out the label yet. A button will show up which will say"PM requestor.

If they doin't want it you will later cancel. The problem is that you will go to the end of the FIFO which is no problem if it's a wishlisted book

Do NOT ask them to cancel as that would be unfair to make them go to the emd of the line for your damaged book.

I would reread what is postable and if I thought my book fit the guidelines, I'd send it without a PM.

If it doesn't fit the guidelines, you are not supposed to post and send it even IF she says she wants it the way it is.

If you click that you can mail the book, and then click to choose an "I can mail by..." date, you'll have a PM button to send a personal message.  I'd suggest choosing the latest mail date available to give time for an exchange of PMs.  Also, tell her what you'll do if you don't hear back by a certain date: mail the book? cancel the request?

I'm with Cozy on this one.  Figure out if hte book meets the guidelines before you post.  Books are allowed an up to 1" tear in a cover. So if the 2 holes are less than 1" then it's postable and you don't need to pm. (I'm thinking they aren't and I wouldn't post it personally)  I don't PM over postable books.  It just creates work and then you have to decide what to do if they don't respond.
