Almost universally rated as one of the classic fiction, and it's deserved. Completed in the 1880's, but not published until 1903, after his death, because it was nearly autobiographical. I've come to appreciate 19th century novels, with their rich descriptions, character development, language craft, smooth humor--and thought-provoking points and themes. It's not a fast read, but I'd say well worth an unhurried journey.
