This story is a wonderful one that really truly illustrates the TRUE story of how all of us have sinned, Jesus came to earth, died for us, and rose again. In this book, we are Anna and the king represents the real King. Anna wonders what it would be like to be out of the castle and in the forest, going somewhere where her father doesn't want her to, representing sin. She manages to get there without anyone knowing, and she is then trapped there. Even though his daughter had betrayed him, the king still cares for her and wants to rescue his Anna. He is determined too. So he does what it takes to get to her through the forest to Anna, but she still resists him. Then Olbaid, the most wicked of them all, comes from the shadows and tells the king that his used-to-be daughter is now his. "What better more could there be?" he asks. And then Olbaid quickly figures out what is better-the king himself. So the king allows himself to have death and be defeated, so his daughter won't. Everything seems as if everything is over, but the king comes back and Olbaid can do nothing more. Again, this shows God's love for us and how he sacrificed himself.
