I've noted that some of the books very similiar to what I have on my bookshelf have wishlist holds on them. For example, I have a different edition of the same book.  Is there any way to PM those people and let them know I have a similiar book?  Thank you so much for your help!  Shannon

Those members actually do get an automatic email from PBS letting them know that a different version of their wishlist book has been posted into the system.  Trust me - I get one EVERY DAY about a certain book that I only want my wishlisted version of.  So, no worries, those members know about you!

There is also a thread in the Book Bazaar for wishlisted books with a different ISBN.  You can post your book there too.

I've also seen it suggested that you go into the WL version of the book and add a tag "posted under ISBN XXXX" and put in the ISBN of the edition you have.

That's interesting about the e-mail being sent.  I have 12 Sharp by Janet Evanovich with a different ISBN - I've tagged it as suggested and have the information posted in another spot as well.

24 members have the book on their WL.  I've checked for the version that's posted as the WL book and on Amazon.  The book that's requested is a Japanese printing of the book.  I have the American printing and I've seen that other members have the same version I do.

THey may be collectors who specifically want that version.  If there are multiple copies of your version available-then most likely they know it's there and they don't want that one.

I usually tell people to compare the bindings and check how many of their version are posted.  If the WL is for lrg print, a unigque version (like the Japanese one) or audio then that's usually what they want.  Sometimes people will take mmp over hardback or vice versa.  But a lot of collectors want hardbacks.

Geri, if it's clearly noted in PBS as the Japanese version, that's probably the edition people want.  If not, you may wish to bring it to the attention of PBS.

One thing I do is about once every few weeks I go to my wishlist and click on the author of the book I have WL'd and I see if there is another copy  of the book I want on their book tiltle list, with a different ISBN in the system. I have found a bunch of my WL books that way. Good Luck :) Kim
