This is a great book that introduces the reader to a variety of shamanic traditions, as well as sharing some good stories from the author's experience. Throughout, though, there was something missing for me, something I still can't quite articulate. Something in the way he uses the term "shamanism" doesn't resonate with the fullness of what it is. His journeying exercises, though, are very interesting, and I have learned much through them.
