put my bookshelf on hold so no one can order books I can't afford to mail right now but still get any wishlisted books that may be posted? I hate to think I have to take hundreds of books off my shelf to keep anyone from ordering them but I still have a few credits I want to use  if a wishlisted book becomes available.

I am unsure if I can continue here on PBS due to money issues and lack of time anyway  once classes get started again next week but I am not sure yet, which is why I don't want to just delete my bookshelf.

Yep, just put your account on vacation hold.  Any book that you have on your WL with auto request will still get sent to you.

I had to do that earlier this year.

oh. Well I have hundreds of books on my wishlist and only a few credits so that won't work. I wouldn't have any way of knowing which ones may become available.

You can go onto your bookshelf and put a check mark in the right hand column for all of your books and then click the "hold" button on top.  That will put your books on hold but not your wishlist.

ETA: There's also a button at the top you can hit to Mark "All" so you don't have to click each one.

Keep in mind Laurie, that you have just removed yourself from the FIFO line on any book on individual hold. The date you take that hold off will be the date those books are considered posted.

Lauri - you can also go through your WLd books, and see where you are on the list.  If you're close to the top, then put them on 'Auto Request".  If you're farther down, just leave them as they are.  You can periodically go through your list (depending on how long your account will be on hold), and as you get closer to the top on other books, add them to the "Auto Request".  Pat

You just lost your place in the fifo line for the books you have posted.  The best way is to put your whole account on hold and put the WL books that you're near the top for or the only one wishing on autorequest. Then just keep checking if you're close to 1 on any others.  Also you won't losey our place in line if you put your WL on hold. It'll just skip you until you come back on line or put it on autorequest.  If you're out of credits when an autorequest WL gets posted it'll give you 48hrs to buy a credit.

crap. Then I might as well have just deleted my bookshelf . I may just end up taking them to a used bookstore or selling them on amazon then.

From the help file regarding your bookshelf being put on hold:

The FIFO order of each book will be preserved during the Hold; it will not "lose its place in line" to get requested.

Marci...that is ONLY if you put your bookshelf on Vacation Hold then you hold your place in line...if you do the individual Hold and leave you WL available then your books Will loose their place in the FIFO line.

Did you take them off hold again Laurie?  I clicked on your bookshelf and see all of your books as if they are available to order. . .

No. I didn't. I thought they were on hold. Why does everything always seem to be so complicated here:(
