I just received a book in the mail that I had previously mailed to another member in March. The post office states the book was unclaimed and now wants me to pay for return shipping. But it was marked received on here. Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do? Thanks for any help! Stephanie |

Either pay to get it back so you can repost it, or forget about it. It is possible that it was marked recieved because of an inactive, abandoned or otherwise bad account,. You are under no obligation to resend or follow-up with the reciever at this point. |

It has happened to me -- member had moved, unaware that the post office does not forward media mail -- she was left a notice by the post office at her new address to pick up the book but that didn't happen, so she marked the book received and ultimately it was returned to me. I got in touch with the member who reinbursed me for the postage sending it out and what I paid to get it back and I reinbursed her credit (I paid to get it back solely out of curiousity because I knew all the books sent were accounted for and because I mail perhaps 60 books a month, the details of that transaction did not stand out to me). I would not do that again because it was a major hassle. You got your credit -- just abandon the book. I would also let PBS know (include the transaction number from your transaction archive) in case it is not an abandoned or inactive account, using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every page. Members who order books to be sent to bad addresses need to be addressed. |

What Laura said. And like Sally I would also pm PBS admin JIC, they may wish to check the account (if it isn't already suspended). |
