I had asked earlier about the etiquette of sending a PM to a member from whom I had ordered 2 books off of their bookshelf. I finally decided to PM a nice-sounding reminder. Never heard back from the member, the books did time out and when I checked that member's bookshelf, the books are no longer listed. I am trying not to feel this way, but I feel suspicious about that.

I have a similar problem, the book timed out about 10days ago (but as I live in Hawaii, I think this will be a regular occurence).

I sent a friendly PM a few days after it had timed out, just to ask if they had used DC so at least we could track where the book is.   No reply. The book is not on the members bookshelf.

The book in listed in my Transaction Archive with a red X and a 'Was this Recieved?' option.

Pat, If the book has timed out it's removed from the persons shelf by PBS.  If there is another in the system you'll roll over to the next person.  I had one that went through four people before I got it.

Judith your book might show up - that red X and asking if it was received is saying that it was mailed.  Probably on a raft in the Pacific...lol.  I had one that vacationed in Vegas for a week on it's way from Hawaii to me.

I think your credit registry will show your credit for that book has been given back to you so that should go smoothly. But more than that I think its the waiting for a book you wanted and not hearing anything that's annoying.  I've had this happen a couple of times recently but with the sender saying they couldnt find the book, etc.     Maybe some people are lucky enough to go on vacation (not me this year) and don't know about placing their account on hold.   Hopefully your credit is back by now and you'll get a PBS email and go back in line for FIFO.

ARghI had a WL book time otu this week adn of course it's the missing link to a series I'm reading.  3 of them were posted to me last week.  I read books 1 and 2 and have books 3, 4, 6 and 7. 5 is the one that timed out.  Grr.  Hopefully by the time I read 3 and 4 it'll be offered to me again.

Thank you, Geri, I did not realize that. That makes me feel better. I hated having that suspicious feeling.

Books shipped to Hawaii go by boat - don't understand why they don't air them, but they don't and I've had them take 6 weeks to get there, but they did eventually arrive.  Pat
