So a few weeks ago I had taken a week off work.  My plan was to work on the yard and get caught up on neglected areas.  We'll, hubby had different plans.  We spend a lot of $$ and bought a bunch of 15 gal frut tress and a bunch of blueberry bushes.  I cleaned what I could of the yard (ended up with with about 6 yard wastes for the pick up company.  We dug, and had to get the kids to swing the ax and dig with us these 3 ft by 2 ft deep holes and planted all our fruit trees.  We got my garden area preped but just no more time to plant.  Last weekend I got some tomatoes planted and some strawberries.  Today I added more strawberries (I have about 12 plants now.. dont know how many to plant).  I have a few sunflowers for color.  A couple rows of lettuce and a row of onion, which I don't think will grow, but I am going to try anyway.  I'm going to get a few more seeds and plant a few more items.  We also build hubby a planter bed and planted some veggies in it as well.  It too needs more veggies, but we're on the go!

I hope things grow and we get some good harvest.  It has been a lot, a lot, a lot of hard work.   I hope it pays off. :)

Yea for me and my family.  I think the kids will enjoy the gardens too..

I finally got started too....but Francine I am exhausted just reading about all you've done.  You should be exceedingly proud!  My "garden" is miniscule compared to yours.  I am sprouting seeds first, then moving those that sprout to a small squared off box.  The ones that flourish there will go into the ground.  So far I've gotten green beans, kale, lettuce and scallions sprouted, with (hopefully) parsley, okra, spinach and basil to come in soon.  It's so great to see the little green sprouts!!
