So, I ordered 2 mass market paperbacks from a swapper, because that is what I wanted.  I received the order and 1 was the mmp and the other was a hardcover.  I double checked to make sure that there wasn't a problem with the ISBN # coming up wrong (I think that happens sometimes, but that is why when you post a book you are asked to make sure!)  So, I marked it RWP (right title and author, just wrong version) and told the sender that the wrong book was sent, that the ISBNs on the book I received was different than the one I received.  Her response?  "I sent you the book that I had"~ Ugggggggg!  In all fairness, she did offer to give my credit back, I didn't take it tho.  Both books were in excellent condition and I would have put the HC on my shelf to swap anyway, so it didn't seem fair in the end.  She isn't a new member and she really should have the posting of new books down by now.  The situation aggravated me, but her response kind of made me chuckle - so, I thought I would pass it on!

I had a long time member (o ver 2 yrs) send me a book with big nasty brown stains all over it and the pages coming away from the spine.  When I marked it RWP and asked for my credit back they said "that's the way I got it from another PBS member so I (meaning me) should be happy with it and don't ever order a book from them again".  You'd think a long time member would know that 1: stains and spines seperation are unpostable and 2: I can't choose who posts a WL book to me.

LOL, I love the old "don't ever order from me again!" response. As if I had any choice in the matter!

Actually, I wish we really did have a choice. It would be great if you could know exactly who is offering you a wishlisted book before you accepted it. Almost all of my transactions have been positive ones, but there were a couple of bad experiences with some really rude members due to the nasty condition of the books that they sent me. I remember their names and I would love it if it was possible to avoid any future transactions with them.

That "don't order from me" makes me laugh too. Technically, you CAN find out, it's just after you order. So, if you happen to go through the FIFO, order your books like normal, then when you check on your "Books coming to me" tab on your account page, you can click the "PM" button just to see who it goes to. Same with if a WL book is offered to you. Or you'd hope that if you went in blindly like that and just so happened to request from that same "loser" who sent you that message, that SHE would remember YOU and cancel the order. But yeah, the people who just say "Don't ever order from me again," it's like, "Do you even understand how the site works."
