Me again
My husband today took a box that I just boxed up this morning, and the woman at the counter (the same place that messed up last time)- and before you say I should have just forgone that location, it's the only one open after noon on a Saturday- told my husband that she knew me (HA!) and that I had already paid the shipping, which I had not! She didn't charge him to ship it, then he called to tell me it was "free". After having words which I won't repeat here, I sent him back and told him to have her charge the shipping at media mail rate and charge the extra 19 cents. He got there 5 minutes later and the woman said that they had already sent everything off on the truck and there was nothing she could do. I don't know how those trucks run but I would have thought it would take more than 5 minutes for them to come and go with a load of packages.
So I have marked the box mailed, but I know it will arrive postage due. I was going to pm the requestor and ask her to refuse the package, and hope I can get it back out before it times out...is that right? Can I refund a credit before the box is marked recieved?- I know thats a question more for the pbs questions but I didn't want to post it twice.

There's about a 50/50 chance it will get delivered without the postage. All depends how busy the office is on the day it comes, and how knowledgeable the people are who work with it. |

I'm hoping it just comes back to me. I pm'd the reciever and let her know what happened an offered to refund and add an extra credit to cover it if not. If she refuses the box, media mail won't come back to me will it? |

If the receiver refuses the box, it will be returned to you postage due (Media Mail rate does not include return postage). Normally a package without postage would be returned to sender, but that little PBS square in the upper right corner looks enough like postage that members report receiving them naked (myself included). Even my efficient PO has tried to 'tub' my PBS packages without adding postage. If the book arrives postage due, you could have the receiver pay for it then pm you. You could then buddy her an additional credit and afterwards she can log it in as received. Invite her to hold the book hostage until you reimburse her for the additional expense. |

Thank you. Even if it could easily be mistaken for postage paid, this particular P.O. location has made too many mistakes as it is. I will just not mail out on a Saturday anymore and avoid them altogether from now on. |

I once received a book via PBS with no postage. There's a small chance the requester will get it and not have to pay anything. |
