Basically the follow-up of the original trilogy, goes in-depth into what happens after the events of "The White Dragon". But best to read the other books published in between those two, at least "Dragonsdawn".

This is the book that "ties up" the activities of ridding Pern of the Thread. AIVIS, the artificial intelligence that ran the colony ships that took the original settlers to Pern was found in a previous book and over the several thousand or so years since Landing has finally figured out how to stop Thread-fall from devasting Pern and this is the adventures leading up to that occurance. It has all our favourites from previous books and even introduces one or two new ones.

For all followers and fans of Pern this is a MUST READ.
