Last time I noticed, maybe yesterday??, there were about 90,000 books to go before we hit 3 million. I was waiting for TPTB to announce the contest to predict the time for the 3-millionth book. This evening I look and we are well over 3 million. Anybody know how come? I did a very quick scan in this forum, and did not see anything. One post mentioned server problems, so maybe the count was under and suddenly got fixed?????? Last Edited on: 2/17/09 8:48 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

People were watching it pretty obsessively on the "thoughts" thread yesterday. It may be the People Magazine effect, or it may be some effect from the server outage. |

It hit it yesterday afternoon I think. |

A lot of us had been watching it pretty closely for several days. Wasn't a big surprise. |

It went very fast didn't it? There were over 2000 books posted in an hour yesterday. The time I noted was 3:18pm EST but the time was different depending on what window you had open. Some showed the 3 million before others. |

Is there a way to compare books requested & going out? I feel my requests have slowed down alot, could be the books I currently have posted or the economy? |

It's probably what you have posted. I checked out your shelf and you have a lot of commonly posted books. Just be patient. THey do eventually get ordered. I had a few get ordered recently. Although I find hanging out the boards and talking about them helps. I had 3 heavily posted books requested from me last month. 1 just worked its way up FIFO, 1 was ordered because I talked about it on the boards (I had just posted it and there were over 300 copies in the system) and the other was selected with the Order More From Member button when I posted a WL book. I just had another one requested. It's been on my shelf for almost a year and was requested today. Last Edited on: 2/18/09 11:38 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
