I don't know about books, but I cannot wait for two movies from favorite reads: The Host and The Hunger Games!

Me, too, Ginger!

However, I'm looking forward to the third book in the Matched trilogy.

The next book, Volume Three, of World Made By Hand Series by James Howard Kunstler.  PLEEEEEEZZZZZE make it be published in 2012.

I wrote to James Kunstler and he wrote back:

The past year I have had to discharge a pain-in-the-ass contract obligation to write a non-fiction book... sort of Long Emergency II. I'm done with it now. The line-edit is on my desk as I write and it comes out in July. ("Too Much Magic: Wishful Thinking Technology, and the Fate of the Nation.")
Then I had to move to another house (Grotesque ordeal).
After new years i aim to settle into WMBH III, which starts just before Christmas in the year that concerns us....

A happy holiday to you.

Stephen Booth's next Cooper/Fry series, DEAD AND BURIED is in the editing process, and will be published in the UK next June, not April, as you might see it listed ))..

Book Description

DS Ben Cooper comes closer to death than he ever has before in the new Cooper/Fry case

Product Description

As moorland fires sweep across the Peak District national park, hundreds of firefighters and park rangers battle to prevent flames reaching a remote inn, once a famous landmark but now abandoned and boarded up. The blaze is just one of a series of random acts of arson which have destroyed miles of heather moorland - and once the flames have died, a grim surprise awaits DS Ben Cooper and DI Diane Fry: a body - dead for years...

A lot of my regular authors aren't releasing books next year, but here's some I'm looking forward to.

Bloodrose - Andrea Cremer

Wolves of Beyond (book 5) - Kathryn Lasky

Bridge of Dreams - Anne Bishop

Earth Unaware (The First Formic War) and Shadows in Flight - Orson Scott Card

The Nightmare Garden - Caitlin Kittredge

A lot of my favorite series authors (mostly mysteries) have new releases coming up next year, but I won't necessarily be waiting with bated breath for all of them...only those I'm caught up with. Here are a few:

Elegy For Eddie: A Maisie Dobbs Novel :: Jacqueline Winspear

As the Crow Flies: A Walt Longmire Mystery :: Craig Johnson

The Case of the Deadly Butter Chicken: Vish Puri, Most Private Investigator :: Tarquin Hall

A City of Broken Glass (Hannah Vogel) :: Rebecca Cantrell

Fun House: A John Ceepak Mystery (Pegasus Crime) :: Chris Grabenstein

Also really hoping that Timothy Hallinan will be releasing a new Poke Rafferty book, Colin Cotterill will do another Dr. Siri book and Adrian Hyland will have a new Emily Tempest book out...got fingers crossed!

The Orphan Master's Son: A Novel of North Korea by Adam Johnson

I like books set in parts of the world that we don't hear from often.
