A few years ago I read some books in a cozy mystery series.  The chararacter was a widowed female who was a book/author agent.  I believe she had a son(?), the setting was a smallish town, and she was dating a cop.  Hopefully someone will be able to tell me the author/series on this limited info!  Thanks in advance!

No, that's not it.  :(   The town was smaller than New York, although I seem to remember that it was on the East Coast.  Another thing I remembered was that in one of the books she goes to a Book/Author Convention, and someone is killed in the hotel room.
