This book is extremely comprehensive in discussing male infant circumcision, especially in the United States. It covers risks and complications related to circumcision, how to care for both the intact or circumcised penis, the history of circumcision, and medical stances on circumcision.

My biggest impression after reading this book-- don't let anyone with the idea of circumcision being okay near your child's genitals! Every medical organization around the world is strongly against routine infant circumcision, and for a very good reason.

I wanted to have our newborn son circumcised, but my husband didn't. He brought home this book and told me that after I read it, if I still wanted to circumcise, he'd be extremely surprised. Well, this book convinced me to leave my son intact. Whether you leave yours intact or choose to circumcise, read this book first, and be educated about the procedure and the lifelong effects of it.
