Defense Attorney Morgan Dane takes a case at the request of Private Investigator Lincoln Sharp. Haley Powell went to a club to celebrate her birthday. She left the club with Noah Carter but doesn't remember anything after that. Upon waking in Noah's bed covered in blood, she follows a trail of blood to his body in the backyard. Morgan knows this is going to be an uphill battle. Haley has no alibi. She is covered in Noah's blood. Her fingerprints are on the knife that killed him. Now Morgan, along with Lincoln Sharp and Lance Kruger, must piece together a defense case as it becomes clear that someone wants to stop them from doing their jobs.

The fourth book in the Morgan Dane series has a lot going on. The opening chapter grabs the reader and doesn't let go. There are several suspects in this book. I kept changing my mind about the identity of the killer and never got it right. Morgan and Lance's relationship moves to a new level. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

So very good. Kept my attention and I really love the dynamics between Sharp, PI Lance and lawyer Morgan plus her entertaining family, its a slam dunk for me.

I'll give this 3* but it's weak

I've tried this series before and it's just not for me, everything about this series is predictable in every way and doesn't leave much room for anything new to 'thrill' you

Seems like a lot of pages spent on describing food, clothes, houses, and more, not my kind of reading, and really doesn't add anything to the story except pages

For this one, all you have to do is get the premise of the storyline and you can skip nearly the entire middle and just move close to the last 3-4 chapters and that will tell you enough

Sorry to be a downer for this series but there are much much better books out there to read
