I mailed a book with printed postage and DC on 7/20.  It was marked delievered by USPS on 7/24.  It has not yet been marked received by the receiver.  The "date of system action" is 8/17.  What will happen on 8/17?  I don't lose a credit, do I?  I don't think a PM is necessary as PBS will send the receiver an email, right?

TIffany,

If you used PBS-Printed postage, you have credit assurance, meaning that no matter what happens (aside from a RWAP) you get your credit (even if the book is never delivered).

You'll keep your credit. Using PBS DC is enough proof that you've mailed the book. Yes, they'll send a couple of auto emails. If you decide to PM them yourself, you might want to wait until just before it is set to go lost. It may just be a slow delivery. They happen pretty regularly when you're dealing with media mail.

Thank you.  Will the book be in limbo forever under the "Books I've Mailed" tab, or will it eventually clear?

It will move to your Transaction Archive on 8-17 if it isnt marked as Received by then.

If it is never marked as Received by the other member it will have a symbol indicating it was Lost in the Mail.

If it is marked Received before that it will move to your Transaction Archive when they do that.

If they receive it after it is Lost in the Mail, the other member can mark it Received from their own Transaction Archive and fill out the survey from there.

I ordered some book 3 weeks before I went on vacation.  Some of the book hadn't arrived before I left and I put my account on hold.  Someone was collecting my mail-but I wasn't home to mark the books received even thou they had been delivered.  When I got back from vacation I marked them received. as this is vacation season, this is one scenario that could be happening.
