I liked this book very much. I haven't seen a book cover this subject this well. It is a children's book that explains how it feels to be blind, mentally retarded, deaf, or in a wheelchair and explains it in simply so other children can relate and understand. It is very clear and goes into detail.
Children with special needs have a hard enough time without the cruelty and teasing of their peers. School age children can be very insensitive to the needs of others.
This book will help children not only care about those with special needs, but also to see what their struggles are and give them a glimpse how if feels to live in their shoes.
The author works with special needs children and trains interns at the Children's Museum of Boston to conduct tours with special needs children and adults on a one to one tour through the museum.
Every teacher and every parent should read this book with their child or class.
The book has the ISBN # of 0684159708 but it would not list.
