Wonderful read-aloud about a young girl and her adventures with her friends and family around the turn-of-the-century.
This is the most wonderful book I have read in quite sometime. It is the story of an oldest child , her adventures and her troubles. An act of disobedience has dire consequences but she preservers and learns a difficult lesson. If you love Martha Finley, or Hesba Stretton, if you enjoy the Five little Peppers books you will not be disappointed. This is book is a gem...I am surprised it is not more popular.
