This is a classic in gender differences in communication. The information is still valid and useful.

Tannen shows us how our conversational styles may be misinterpreted, and how we may misinterpret others. She gives some great advice on how to experiment with changes in conversational style if we are having difficulty communicating well.

While I did get a bit of appreciation of conversational differences, I felt this book provided more of a 'glimpse' than insight into this topic.

That said, I truly feel this is an important subject and one that would be fabulous taught to all school kids before we get mired in our own 'styles' which lead to loggerheads in communication. I have my fingers crossed that there is a better writer who could offer a more insightful and suggestive way(s) for positive change.

Opened my eyes to things I had never thought about. Very good for a marriage or any relationship. Very insightful!
