Well, I decided to read a chick lit I saw recommended in a thread in 'hidden gems'...someone was asking about chick lit favorites and I saw this one listed and thought 'hey that's on my shelf'....well...I'm wishing I'd gone ahead and started Shelter Mountain! Actually, I'm sticking with the book 'cause after about 100 pages it was funny; predictable kind of funny but hey I'm cranky tonight anyways! It's 'Dating Without Novocaine' by Lisa Cach. The first chapter hooked me a bit because the woman sews and I quilt which is fairly close to sewing-sewing..and there are references frequently to her fear of dentists-can relate to that..and the chapter where she goes to an adult store for the first time pretty much sums up my experience(minus being caught on camera in a picket line when I'm leaving!)so I'm figuring since the one guy friend is a dentist that they'll hook up the last page or so...but good mindless funny reading in places to get through the night..didnt' want to be tired and in a bad mood and waste a good promising book like Shelter Mountain! :-)

so between reading this book and surfing amazon for more porn, I mean erotica, the night at work is almost done..well ok had a little work mixed in too! found some possible good ways to spend my overtime...anyone read Lena Matthews? She has 3 Joker's Wild books and the first sounds cute ' Call Me'. Also thinking about a couple Rhyanna Byrd books and Charlene Teglia.

gosh guess everyone's sleeping late :-( I'm about to hit the hay...read some more of 'Dating without Novocaine' and parts are hysterical! she's finally 'getting lucky' and squirts in a bunch of spermacide(not sure how much to use) and the guy takes off the condom without telling her and he's allergic or something and hollering! hoo boy! serves the jerk right for doing that...

Susanna,I never heard of Lena Matthews.  Never read RhyannaByrd.  I keep seeing her name on the Daily Wish List.  Be interesting to get some feedback on them.  At the Barnes & Noble 3 for 1 sale I ordered Enticed and Entangled by Kathleen Dante.  Never read her either, but those two related books keep appearing on the DWL also.

My streak of really good books ended, sigh.  I read Sexylips66 by Dakota Cassidy which actually was very good but it wasn't a 10 because the h is one of those who is constantly putting herself down.  A little of that goes a long way, and there was more of that in this book than I could happily tolerate.  I always think, Well either get over it and get on with things or get out and let the poor guy have an h who is worthy of him.

Then I read The Day We Met by Barbara Bretton and was sadly disappointed.  It had all the ingredients for a really good story but I hated the way the h and the H's family and "friends" all sort of pulled back from him until he was proven to be a hero instead of a man with human flaws.  They were definitely fair weather friends and family.  Not attractive personalities at all.

Next up is Pursuit by Elizabeth Jennings ( aka Lisa Marie Rice).

edited for typos, hopefully got them all

I'm reading several books right now.

I started Crazy Hot by Janzen and The Spymaster's Lady which I can't seem to get into 80 pages into it.  I don't know why, but I am not a big fan of the heroine so far.  Hopefully it will get better.

I also picked up a Silhouette Desire by Nalini Singh that I will start soon.  I've been on a Silhouette kick lately because I like to be able to read a whole book in a day.

I'm reading "One for the Road" by Crystal Green.  It's an April Blaze title.  Pretty good so far!

I read about 3 Rhyiannon Byrds. Two of them had the same exact plot. The third was TRIPLE PLAY. They weren't badly written for e-books.

Bronwyn - I also got Entangled by Kathleen Dante during that B&N sale.  Can't wait to get my stuff on Monday and start reading!

I finished What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris and I'm about to start the sequel When Gods Die.  Like I mentioned before - it's a historical mystery.  There's a romantic element but it's definitely not the driver but I have a feeling all of these books (it's a continuing series about the Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin and his investigations) will become keepers.

Susan I'm glad you like those CS Harris books since I recommended them.  They are good. The next 2 are When Mermaids Sing and Where Serpents Sleep.   I wonder how many W books she can come up with before she has to change the titles up a little.  I put them both on my WL.  I don't normally like hardback but I haven't found an ISBN for paperback yet.

Thanks Mary for the recommendation!  Another thing I liked about the book - the murder wasn't a run of the mill murder.  It wasn't something I would expect from a regency period book - I liked that about it.  And I'm really curious to see how the romance ends up - there is no easy solution there.

I know. She was really good at adding the romance w/o making it a "romance" book.  I hope they end up together.  It might get tiring if in book after book they are wavering.

Kimberly D--I know the feeling with The Spymaster's Lady. It hasn't  exactly been easy for me to get into either and I don't know why--I like the time period and the spy angle but something just isn't doing it for me.

I'm reading Love is Blind by Lindsay Sands. I inturrupted myself halfway through Joe Hill's Heart Shaped Box (which is also good btw) to start it. I guess I just wanted something light.

I read The Raven Prince last night and ended up really liking it at the end (for some reason, I had mixed feelings about the characters as I read, but she pulled it together in the end)...  am about halfway through The Leopard Prince, and enjoying it so far.

Haven't read any Rhyanna Byrd, but have heard good things about Charlene Teglia.  I read her short story in Seasons of Seduction and it was funny and pretty hot.  Would definitely read more by her :)

I gave up on Tumbling Through Time by Gwyn Cready- just couldn't get into it.  I'm debating about holding onto it and trying again later, or just posting it, since it is WLed...guess I'll give it a couple of weeks and see if I feel like trying again.  I am about halfway through The Bride Stripped Bare, which is different and interesting.  I'm not blown away, but it's holding my interest for now.  I went to Goodwill this morning and picked up Undressed by Vicki Lewis Thompson, Suzanne Forster, and Alison Kent, and I'm looking forward to starting that one next.  I wish I'd seen it a week or 2 ago, when I was looking for something to use in the Steamy Swap!!  I also picked up Something Blue by Emily Griffin, and Undressed by Steph Ann Holm, and this is the first time I realized that I bought two different books at the same time with the same title, lol!  I think I'll read that one after the first Undressed.

I'm reading the first in the Brothers in Arms series by Samantha Kane and not real impressed, unfortunately. They sounded so good! I'm also still reading The Unknown Ajax by Georgette Heyer and loving it. It makes me want to pick up all my other favorites by her, but I will resist. Too many books here I haven't read! Also recently finished Dinah's Dark Desire. It was okay.

I finished up 'Dating Without Novocaine' and it was funny! It turns out it was perfect for an easy brainless read..could've been a better story overall but parts were funny!

Bronwyn I also orderd both Enticed and Entangled as part of the B&N order..not sure how they'll be but oh well.

I ordered the 1st Joker's Wild book and some others from amazon to try. Triple Play was part of the buy 3 get 4th free deal there t hough it was priced higher. Ihad 2 Charlene Teglia books that were cheaper-probably shorties/quickies whatever they're called-and they were also in the 4 for 3 and I had someting else on my wishlist that was also so that solved that problem..never mind that I have an entire box of B&N 'deals' sitting on a chair by the computer :-) and 30 books calling my name for me to read them NOW! sigh..

working night shift again tonight debating what to read..I have the 2nd and 3rd Virgin River books but sorta wanting to 'wait' on those and savor them a bit..at least a few more hours! I brougth a Bad Boys Anthology, Wicken Women anthology (in case I need shorter stories!), an older Lucy Monroe book -Come Up and See Me Sometime, a chicklit book Scot on the Rocks..surely something will catch my attention enough to settle down and read if/when I have time here between working!

KImbery, I loved Crazy HOt! I loved the frist 4 in that series.had to drag through the last 2 though 'cause weird stuff in the 5th one - at least to me it was. I have the 2 'loose' books in my TBR pile to read too when I get ready for that kind of read.

One for the Road was really good.  A nice, short read.  Now I'm reading a 3-in-1 anthology, Midnight Fantasies by Vicki Lewis Thompson, Stephanie Bond, and Kimberly Raye.

I just signed up for a Romantic Suspense swap so I've gotta decide what book to use and read it.  Tomorrow'll be a good day to start that, gonna be doing a lot of sit around and waiting.

I started a chicklit book, Me and Mr Darcy, because it needs to go back to the library. I don't like chicklit all that much though, so I dunno if I'm gonna stick with it.

that sounds like a good anthology Sarah! I've like other books by those authors, especially Thompson! Have you read stephanie bond's 'body movers' books? she has 2 out and a 3rd I think comes out later this year.

I'm almost finished with Arousing Suspicions by Marianne Stillings.  It's my first book by her and I'm enjoying it.  Not sure what I'll read next...

I love Marianne Stillings.

I read Edge of Danger by Cherry Adair yesterday. I started Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourne tonight.

Sarah and Susanna, that's a great anthology--a keeper for me :)  It was sort of a kick-off for the Blaze line, and a few of the first Blazes are connected to the stories in the anthology.

Finished The Leopard Prince, and liked it a lot.  The Serpent Prince is up next, I think...

well after trying a few differnt books I finally gave up and picked up 'shelter mountain' by robyn carr! I guess I'm just gonna have to read this one for a while and see how it goes. I was trying to read 'come up and see me sometime' by lucy monroe since I loved her mercenary and goddard project books...this one was a bit slow warming up to for me but I might go back to it later. figured I might as well read what I was in the mood for anyways which was to read more in the Virgin River series. If this doesn't cut it then I'l get one of the anthologies out to read to help p ass the next half of the shift...
