I got Shana Galen's Lord and Lady Spy yesterday at my UBS, so I will be reading that hopefully this evening.

I DNF'd Too Hot to Touch by Louisa Edwards.  Really disappointing- I have liked all the previous books by her, but in this one I couldn't even get past Chapter 3.  I can only take so much arrogance in a hero, and this one just put me off from page 1.  Not sure if it's just my mood or if it's that I just won't like this book no matter what, but I will keep it around for awhile in case I want to give it another try later.

So instead of that, I read The Icing on the Cake (True Vows) by Alison Kent, and really liked it.  It's the third of the True Vows books I have read, and definitely my favorite of the three.  Now I am reading Tempt Me Tonight by Toni Blake, which I've had on my TBR for awhile.  Yet another "he broke my heart in high school, now I'm going to go back and seek vengeance by seducing him and dumping him on his ass" plot, which seems awfully tired to me, but what the heck, I generally really like this author so am willing to give it a chance.

I never get how someone who's had their heart broken by someone thinks they can manage to make that person fall in love with them...

I've read the first two stories in Men Under the Mistletoe -- really good! I was hesitant to request it, so glad I did.

Going to start on Splendid by Julia Quinn next.  It's on loan from a friend so I need to get it read.  ;-)

DNF on Splendid by Julia Quinn.  Didn't like the hero from the git-go so on to something else.

I finished NTM author, Shana Galen's Lord and Lady Spy last night and it was a great read, but I do so hope that there will be a sequel to this one, as that ending was left wide open.

Hit WM yesterday and broke down and bought the latest Diana Palmer - True Blue - Rick Marquez story and the second in the Maya Banks stories. Both OK but neither a keeper -You have to be a sucker for Diana Palmer (which unfortunately I am) to like True Blue, but it seemed too quick with way too much story and things moved  quite fast .....though I guess it still goes back to her history which I think is meeting and marrying in a week???. Anyway the Banks book was OK though you really had to buy in to forgiving somebody who made a huge mistake in a relationship. Won't stop me from getting the rest in the series.

Palmer is my guilty pleasure and I bought this book, too, as I liked Rick in MERCILESS which I listened to last month.

I'm a sucker for Diana Palmer, too.  Her other new one, Wyoming Tough, wasn't too bad.  The heroine's parents were the H&h of To Love & Cherish, so of course I had to go back and re-read that one.

Didn't realize that about To Love and Cherish... I have that one in TBR pile so I'll read it first. A cozy way to spend a day off -- OD'ng on Diana Palmer ... A good comfort read when you need it!

OK I just finished The Shattered Sylph by LJ McDonald and I have to say, if you have read the first book, you DEFINITELY need to read this one.  It was sooo good.  Just outstanding.   I'm not even sure I can pick up another book today and be interested.

I'm in a slump, and it sucks lol I don't know what I am in the mood for. I want something that I don't need to wait pages for it to get going, or wait forever got the h/H to meet, something that I don't have to think much for (I'm sick, bleh). Usually I would go towards regular contemp when I'm in these moods but I don't know which.

Starting on The Duke and I (Bridgerstons #1) by Julia Quinn.   A friend loaned me the whole set to read while I'm recuperating from surgery, so guess I'd better get around to reading them!   Hope they are good.

I'm in a slump, and it sucks lol

I hear ya, Ashley. Ever since I finished Play of Passion (Psy-Changelings, Bk 9) last week, I haven't been happy with anything. I read Wanted by Her Lost Love by Maya Banks — it was incredibly short, and the hero had a split personality between the two halves of the book, but it was OK. Barely got through Katie Macalister's Noble Intentions (Noble, Bk 1). I normally like her writing, but in this one it seemed like she was trying way to hard to be funny and witty. That being said, it did have quite a few LOL moments. So I picked up the next one, Noble Destiny (Noble, Bk 2). Now, it takes A LOT for me to DNF a book, and I was through with this one by the first 20 pages. I've never come across a more insipid, shallow heroine — and the killer was, she was in the first book and she was fine. Macalister tried to give her the quirky characteristic of constantly getting words wrong, but I do mean constant. Like, at least twice every page, which got incredibly annoying. So, DNF. I'll give the third one a try, but in the meantime, because I didn't bring anything else with me to work, I've been plowing through a couple short ebooks.

ETA: Loved the Bridgertons, Sherri! Hope they're helping you recuperate. :)
