Started John Lescroart's The Mercy Rule, but mini TBR series coming up is hysterical for historicals!

Ugh, it may be a new week but I'm still slogging through last week's book. I should never have started it during December. It's due at the library tomorrow, we're in the midst of a blizzard warning so for the first time in my life I'll have to pay a fine for an overdue book. But it'll give me a chance to finish the book if I can't make it to the library.

It's the 2nd Jim Butcher "Dresden" book. And it's good - that's what's so sad about this.

Since I got my Nookcolor for christmas I can finally read again without making a mess of books everywhere!!!!!!!! (house is on the market) I read Selfish is the Heart by Megan hart and it was blah and meh. I just could not get into it like I could the others in that series.  I just started Sam's Creed by Sarah McCarty. I am liking it a lot.  I also have Pride and Prejudice and Zombies  waiting for me.  I read the sample and can't wait to read it. I am a lover of P&P, read it a billion times, watched the old 40's movie,BBC version, kira version. It should be interesting a fun to read.

I love Dresden I need to pick that series back up!

I finished Starquest by Hywela Lyn and it was bad.  With another author it might have worked but this was just helter skelter, 1st person AND 3rd person, and a storyline with potential that just never cut it;   Once I looked past that and recreated the story in my head, it was ok.  (LOL)   I doubt I will ever read this author again.

Now I'm reading Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer.

Started about a hundred books yesterday, now I'm in a good HP that's holding my attention finally! Reckless Engagement by Daphne Clair.

I finished Ride the Fire by Jo Davis and also did a re-read of Sam's Creed

Not sure what's up next.  I want to get some books transferred to my Nook, but even when I do, I don't know that I'll read anything on there yet.  Most of what I have are freebies that aren't anything I'm dying to read.

I started Balogh's Simply Series.  Everytime I think I'm going to take a break from reading series, I start another.

I'm still reading With This Ring by Amanda Quick. like it but it's slow going for me this week.

my library doesnt' charge fines if they're not open - so long as the book is back before they open up again.

I finally picked up Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn to read. It's been sitting in my TBR pile for a while and I kept putting it off. It's not too bad so far.

I am reading Indulgence In Death.  J.D. Robb is always a good read for me.

So I finished Sam's  Creed  and I liked liked it except for ****spoiler-ish ahead ****** the part where she gets stolen and raped by that gross guy. That kinda made me sick to my stomach a little. It wasn't really graphic but Sam decribes how the guy tore her and how blood is pooling down her thighs. yuck I am turning green just typing it. Of course he saves her and they live hapily ever after. On to the next one in this series Tucker's Claim .

Started Desperate Hearts by Alexis Harrington last night.  I love this author and this book has been sitting in my TBR pile for a month now, begging me to pick it up.  Don't know if I will finish it today or not.  Today there is, supposibly, no rain in the forecast and I want to start getting the Xmas decorations down and out into the garage.  Since the garage is detached from the house, it makes more sense to do it today rather than when it is pouring out.

I just heard of Alexis Harrington the other day and now she's popping up all over the place. :-) Funny how that happens.

Still reading all the books I was already reading.

Picked up Eloisa James's Storming the Castle on Amazon for 1.99. It is a sequal to A Kiss at Midnight and is Wick's the half brother's story. It was really cute and I thought she did a good job with the word count.

Still reading MN's TDV and it has been good as well. It just wasn't in here where I was at.

Willa- She is worth checking out!  I LOVED Harper's Bride and I am loving Desperate Hearts!  They are historical/western novels and the research into them is fascinating.  Right now I'm getting all of her older stuff (thank you PBS swappers!) and I am devouring them.

Jessie - Bella wasn't raped.  Later on in the book it's explained that it was her "woman's time" (hence the blood) and that was the only thing that saved her from being raped.

I started Season to be Sinful by Jo Goodman.

I've been on a D.E. Stevenson spree. I read The Tall Stranger a few weeks ago, Listening Valley on Christmas Day and picked up Fletcher's End last night.   I was going to read The Musgraves but Fletcher's End yelled, "Pick me! Pick me!" so there you go!

I was going to say, I didn't remember a rape scene in Sam's Creed and it so far has been my fav of the series.  Loved, loved Miranda Neville's The Dangerious Viscount and have now started Anne Stuart's Breathless and man o man this one is much darker than the other two. She is going to have to do some real writer's magic to bring this one to heel.
