Yesterday was a good day, read 2 books. Alpha Instinct by Kate Keus. Was pretty good, some annoying things that I hate in romance but I still couldn't put the book down lol Also No Control by Shannon K. Butcher. It was okay, but I got really annoyed with the heroine lol

I finished Jo Davis's Ride the Fire and that completes that series. I hope that she does more, because I would really like to have Shane's story. Shea's brother, he is begging for one and then there is Clay he could use one. I was having my carpets cleaned and didn't want to start something that I would have to spill someone's blood if they interrupted me, so I figured that was a safer bet than Ward's Lover Unbound or Singh's Archangel's Consort. Blood is so much harder to get out of the carpet. ;-)

I finished Animal Attraction by Jill Shalvis.  I know people haven't been raving about this one, but I love Jill Shalvis and this was no exception.  Her heroes are so perfectly alpha-guynextdoor-yummy, and Jade was a heroine I could soooooooooooooo relate to.  She was OCD and made lists for her lists and spreadsheets were her best friend.  One thing I wish authors would shy away from (Highlight because I sort of give it away) is having BOTH main characters have the grand epiphany at the end.  What's wrong with one of them coming back to/going after the other?  Why do they *both* have to "give in" to make it real?  I would have loved to have Dell go after Jade and bring her back without her already planning to do it on her own.

Anyo so.

I'm reading Maid for Murder by Barbara Colley - it's a mystery I'm reading for a challenge. anyone read this series? I'm mixed on it - kinda like it and kinda don't - the mystery is keeping my attention and if there's a love interest for the older sleuth then that might be interestng to read...

Finally settled in Florida after our big move from Virginia. I found all my book boxes and set up my keeper shelf and my TBR pile.  I just finished Robyn Carr's latest and enjoyed it even though she

uses my #1 hated plot device :( Won't be a keeper shelf book, but I'd rate it a B-/C+. Now I'll dig through my pile and find a Historical. I'm in the mood for a good Regency!

I am struggling with Janet Chapman's Spellbound Falls. I just cannot get into it, and keep finding other things to do besides read, which is RARE for me - usually I read and forget all other entertainment and chores!!!

I don't know what it is....is it the characters? Maybe. I'm not even far enough in to know if its the plot or not, but it is sooo slow moving.

Has anyone else read it? Does it get better?

I would happily put it aside as a DNF if I didn't spend my hard-earned $$ on it. Why oh why couldn't I wait and just get it here?! For some reason, I feel more compelled to read books that I bought as opposed to books I get through PBS. Weird, I know!

I have spellbound falls on my wl - I think - maybe I should take it off if it's not any good...I usually like hers ok - she's always been dependable though some are better than others

almost done with Maid for Murder - just a few pages left.  may read the others in the series eventually since my library has them but I'm mixed on how I feel about themain character - she really intefers with a murder investigation and well parts of her I just dont' like. can't seem to find a good mystery series that's light and doesn't have an annoying character! I hated the woman ni the flower shop mysteries and tried the chocolate chip cookie murder and didn't like that one either - even benni harper is getting on my nerves and that's been a fave series for a while. I like the in death series but they're not light at all  and some are downright scary for my wimpy self and I have to spread them out some.

may go back to tara janzen's series after this or pick up a library book. this mystery finishes the challenge so I have a fwe weeks til thenext one starts.

I read Instant Temptation by Shalvis and liked it quite a bit.  I liked Harley as the heroine- she has a little more of an edge than the heroines of the first two books, and that worked for TJ.  I wasn't feeling well yesterday so spent the day laying around and managed to read Julia's Chocolates from start to finish.  Loved it!  I recently read The Last Time I Was Me and loved it as well, so will have to look for more by that author.

I don't know what to start next...might just have to close my eyes and grab one.

Finished R L Matthewson's Perfection, the second in the Neighbor from hell series and it was another funny over the top with emotion read. These Bradford males are so overly emotional, but in a fun and zany way. If you like alot of silliness and fun in your romances then Zoe and Trevor may be for you. Trevor was mean to Zoe at first, but he very soon sees Zoe for the "perfect" woman for him. He just has to convince her of that.  I love these zany reads and the next one in the series is a antagonist that grew up baiting and torturing one another turn to lovers stories...can't wait.

I finished Silent On The Moor/Raybourn last night, stayed up later than I wanted to finish it up. Not sure if the rest of the books are available as ebooks through my library system, but I'll check it out.

Now to return to the HQ Presents I started last week, should finish it up today as I'm halfway through it. What I'll read after that one, I'm not sure yet.

I work today and tomorrow, then I'm on a mini vacation week for the rest of this week so I hope to get a big bit of reading done.

I'm slogging through Covet, I don't know why it's so hard. I think I need to save this series until I'm finished with the BDB.

Keri, I really enjoyed the 'Neighbor from Hell' books too. If I remember correctly I got  one of them as a freebie and the other was only 99cents. I will have to go look for info on the next one.

I just finished reading Lori Wilde's series about Twilight, Texas. The ones about the knitting, quilting, cookie & gardening clubs. I thought it was just ok. I like series that have characters that carry over more into the next books. The main romantic couples in these books don't really do that. The older ladies from the clubs carry over but she introduces storylines with them that she doesn't really follow through with.

I finished At Her Service by Susan Johnson, and wasn't thrilled with it throughout, but then absolutely hated the ending. It made me angry

This morning I started Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, Bk 4) by KMM.

Rebecca, I listened to Covet on an audio and I don't know if I would have finished it if I was reading it. It is a really original story line but the romance aspect is some what lacking (don't know if it's marketed as an urban fantasy).

The characters are imperfect and not the usual perfect/georgeous/never makes a mistake person which makes this book really interesting. You sometimes have trouble liking the characters.

I am glad that I finished it. My library doesn't have the next books in audio but if they did I would have borrowed them.

Jennifer, the Twilight Texas books do have stories for the "older ladies" that were released around Christmas in ebook only format novellas.  I haven't read them yet, but I plano to, b/c I need to know how all that turns out.

I finished Deadly Sins, it was really good, but it was dark, and left a lot of unanswered questions.  I really need that next book, but it's not due out until who knows when, it's not even on her website yet.

Cyndi, it is a good story, I think I just may not be in the mood for it. I do like how Phury and Vhiscious made cameos. Some of my books came in at the library so I'm going to read one of those, I don't know which one yet.

Yesterday I read The Tracker by Maddy Barone.  Really good but dark.  I enjoyed it though.  Today I'm reading a lighthearted romance called The Knight and Maggie's Baby  by Lisa Mondello

Almost halfway through Singh's Archangel's Consort....very addictive as usual. Haven't wanted to put it down.

ETA: It was awesome! Love it! Now I have to fight not to pick up Dmitri's book. He is such a bad boy, he needs to be taken down a peg or two or ten. :-)
