New week!

I plan to start the Iron Duke today, if I can get up my nerve. :-)

I finished reading The Raven Prince  by Elizabeth Hoyt.  I liked it alot.  Hard to believe its her debut novel.

Think I'm going to start on Intentions of the Earl by Rose Gordon next. I borrowed it from Brenda.  ;-)

Just finished Lightning that Lingers by Sharon and Tom Curtis. It was awesome. Wish I could talk my husband into co-writing a romance with me. He often reminds me of Jennifer Crusie. ;-)

Intentions of the Earl by Rose Gordon was pretty darn good.  I finished it late last night right before my Nook gave up the ghost for good.  On a good  note however, my husband felt sorry for me (or was it the tears? lol) and said I could get a new one today.  Yeah!!

YAY for Sherri's husband!  lol   Sorry about your Nook, tho.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through Black Jack and it's getting better.  Part of me is really frustrated, though, because I just want to know WHY they can't tell Lilly who she is/was???  If she was as good an agent as they say, then why would they worry about her blowing their cover?  So dumb.  Maybe I'm missing something.

I just finished The Haunting by Hope Tarr and it was sooooo good.   I love stories about re-incarnated /ghostly lovers.

The Perfect Play was really good.  Now I need to get some more of Jaci Burton's stuff!

I realized that I have almost NO WL books on my TBR for a change- it's been a loonnggg time since that happened!  So I started The Kept Woman by Susan Donovan.  I"ve read a few of her other books, and there wasn't a single one I didn't like, so I hope this one is good as well.

Going to start  Planet X by Evangeline Anderson, a friend lent it to me on the Kindle! I'm in a Sci/Fi Paranormal reading challenge so a lot of my reading will be those for the next eight weeks. smiley

Seduced by A Stranger by Eve Silver was a great dark, gothic story, for those who like that kind of thing. Though I ruined the story for myself by accidentally reading a spoiler when I was looking down through the ratings on Goodreads. angry Note: if you want to read this, DO NOT read any reviews! It'll ruin the great twist at the end.

I went to HPB over the weekend and picked up a copy of Stray (Werecats, Bk 1) by Rachel Vincent, thinking I'd just post it for a credit since it's a WL book. Um, yeah, I'm now on page 237, and sucked in.

Gina - I've read a few books by Eve Silver and while goth isn't usually my thing, I really enjoy her books!

Lesley, I just finished Bound, Branded & Brazen by Jaci Burton.  I think you'd like it.  It's three short stories that revolve around 3 sisters who co-own a ranch in Oklahoma.  I thought the stories were well written, even though they were about 120 pages each.  Lots of hot romance!

Are you interested?

I finished Pale Moon Rider by Marsha Canham and just loved it. The only problem is what do you read after that???I need to wait a bit to read another historical so I'm going for a light contemporary and reading An Offer He Can't Refuse by Christie Ridgway. It's a little slow in the beginning but starting to pick up.

Diana- I was just looking at that one in Borders yesterday!  I'll send ya a PM.

I finished The Kept Woman, and it was ok.  I liked it, but not as much as other Susan Donovan books I've read.

Now I'm reading a book I just got for Ani's romance swap, which shall be unnamed until after I reveal!

I am currently reading Drink of Me by Jacquelyyn Frank.  Wasn't sure if I was going to like it as I'm not into the vampire thing, but so far so good.  I'm about a third of the way through and it reads a lot like a historical romance.

I really enjoyed Stray by Rachel Vincent.....pretty good for a book I picked up on a whim on the HPB clearance shelves. Faythe was a tad annoying at times, but her strength made up for it. Now to work on getting the other books in this series.

Up next is If Wishes Were Horses by Joey W. Hill.

Sherri, is that one of Palmer's historicals? I find them pretty unreadable.

Yes.  Set around the time of the Galveston, TX hurricane.  Same a$$hole hero but the way she wrote him was weird.  He flip flopped so much it was like he was bipolar.  I skimmed 90% of it.  The heroine was a waste of space.

On a Lorelei James jag the last few days compliments of my book swap and her Rough Riders series - related members of an extended ranching family. Never read her before but read "Shoulda Been a Cowboy" about a an ex-vet who is an amputee and Branded as Trouble (ex-alcoholic and a tattooed girlfriend) and Tied Up and Tied down. Liked the cowboy book the best with branded as trouble a surprising second. All have a decent story to accompany the spicy parts. Was surprised I liked them as much as I did.
