New week! I'm continuing my streak of sad books with grieving people with One True Love by Barbara Freethy.

Just finished three of Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson books. Excellent books with just enough snark and a good mystery. Highly recommended.

Next up I'm starting on the Hell's Eight series by Sarah McCarty beginning with Caine's Reckoning.

I just finished reading The Witnesss by Nora Roberts. Absolutely loved it!! I have enjoyed her yearly Romantic Suspense books, but they haven't wow-ed me in awhile. This one had the feel to me

of her earlier books. Put that puppy on my keeper shelf :)

Finished KMM's Faefever and Dreamfever back to back and going to get my hands on Shadowfever today. No way can I put off finishing this series out. Of course I have heard that there is going to be two more in this series after the Dani O'Malley series. Can't wait!

I finished Temptation & Twilight.  I liked it a lot.  I think I liked Pride & Passion better, but it's like comparing apples & oranges.  This book was so much grittier and more emotional, while P&P was romantic and touching.  I absolutely LOVED the ending of T&T.  I wish every romance had an ending as touching and sexy and fulfilling.  Most of the time you are lucky to get a few short pages indicatinig the couple's happy ever after.  The ending chapter of this book was wonderful.

I'm not much into anything right now but have started JD Robb's Judgment in death I think it is and kerrelyn sparks' vamp story...can't remember the guy phinny maybe? can tell I'm not quite into it huh? I think vicki lewis thompson's newest comes out in a couple of days so will download it and read most likely before anything else gets finished!

I finished Generational Sins by Samantha Blair. It was so, so great! It was most definitely dark, violent, and disturbing to read in spots though. Man i couldnt stop reading! If it wasnt for some grammar and editing issues it would have been perfect.

Not sure what im going to pick up next.

I quite liked Serendipity by Carly  Phillips- some of her series I just couldn't get into, but this one seems pretty good so far.  I looked for the next book at Target but coudln't find it there...but oddly enough they had it at WinCo!  So I snagged it and plan to read it next week on vacation.  In the meantime, I started Scarlett Nights by Jude Devereaux.  It's been awhile since I read the book that came before this one, and I'm not really getting into it, so I don't know if I'll finish- I'll give it a couple more chapters before I decide.

I am reading Primal Bonds by Jennifer Ashley. I like it, but I am not loving the heroine. I think she is a little TSTL lol

Michelle, I agree with that ending. Ashley I liked Primal Bonds, but I didn't love it. The series has gotten better each successive book. I finished KMM's Shadowfever and I LOVED it! TRULY EPIC! Finally got my romance that I wanted between Mac and Barrons, but dang what a ride to get there. Also listened to the audio of the JZB sex scene from Barron's POV and man oh man Phil Gigante's voice...then it seemed he was really getting into Barrons character...had to fan myself. ;-) Loved it!

Finished with Pariah by Catherine Gayle.   Kind of sad but a very touching story.  I liked it.

I finished another Kristen Ashley, Lady Luck, which was definitely my least favorite in the Colorado Mountain series, but still very good. Also finished a couple shorts, Kept by Carolyn Faulkner and Awakening by Kitty Thomas. Kept was OK, Awakening was a great genre change-up for Thomas with her delving into a bit of fantasy.

Not sure what's up next, but it will be another short one, since the e-book challenge is over tomorrow.

I'm reading The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showalter.  I've been anxious about reading this book, because I think I've been expecting SO MUCH from Paris' story and I don't want it to disappoint.  That, plus it's a LONG book and I know it's going to be to angsty and the road to his & Sienna's HEA is going to suck.  lol

Glad you're enjoying Ward, Lisa -- she doesn't work for everyone.

I think there's a direct correlation between how much I was looking forward to a book and how long I take to get up the nerve to start it. Though in this case, the main reason I haven't read TDS yet is I still have to read a bunch of other books first and it's the only one of the series I'm really curious about.

Started Marsha Canham's My Forever Love and wow this is tough time for women and poor Ami has had it damn rough. LOVE BDB! Wish I hadn't sped through the series like I did.

I've actually not read Tohr's book because I couldn't stand the thought of not having the next book. I pre-ordered the next one so I'll read Lover Reborn soon. It's my favorite series!

Yay for the BDB (and Ward)! They are all awesome so far for me too! I have bk 5 on my tbr pile. I'm slowest to start the books I'm looking forward to the most too. Lol. I just got Thief of Shadows and I know it's going to sit on top of  the tbr like a prized jewel - glistenting and sparkling - beckoning and enticing me. (hahaha)

I finished up Don't Tempt Me by Chase. I liked it. Sometimes I found it a bit "hanky", for lack of a better word, but I did enjoy it. Next up is The Duke's Perfect Wife by Jennifer Ashley - can't wait to read this one too. wink

I just ordered Pride and Passion from a WL Multiple post, and lo and behold, wouldn't you know it, it comes up in the Historical Romance Virtual Box!! Drat. I thought about canceling the order, but I'm towards the bottom of the list this month, so not assured that it would even be available come my turn. C'est la vie, la vie - right??

And a question - I take it that The Darkest Seduction would not be a good selection for a stand alone book?

Still plugging away at Scarlet Nights by Devereaux.  Hero seems pretty full of himself, and I can't decide if heroine is stubborn on purpose or just a complete twit.  But the plot is intriguing enough that I'm hanging in there with it, at least for the time being.
