I am reading By the Book (Jamesville) by N.J. Walters. It's actually quite a quick read and reminds me (in a more simplified and shorter way) of Lori Foster's books.  Spunky heroine, former special forces hero who will do whatever it takes to protect her from some unknown menace.  Nothing heavy, just a fun book.

still reading Absolutey Positively by  JAK - not my favorite by her but it fits a reading challenge I'm doing. luckily her worst ones are still ok! also doing a re-read of Zach's Law by Kay Hooper for another challenge - already read the first half which is my favorite but not into the next section but will finish it soon. probably after the JAK book. then maybe read a Love Inspired I just got by a fave author/series.

I am reading Playing Dead by Allison Brennan and it has been pretty good so far. This particulary trilogy I would recommend reading in order, as Clair's dad plays such a part in all three. It also has a unique twist with the entire story arc, she is good as that, building story arc within a story arc or interrelating her characters. I also finished Julia Quinn's When He Was Wicked and it was just ok for me. Not one of my favs of that series.

DNF on Texas Blue by Celia Yeary.  Couldn't get interested in it and the writing seemed kind of bland.

Off to the TBR pile...

I just finished Blair Bancroft's A SEASON FOR LOVE, a Signet trad. Lovely, lovely story. The two love stories were beautifully handled, almost equal time for both. I really liked her writing style, too.

Now I'll be starting Melody Thomas's BEAUTY AND THE DUKE. NTM author. Hope I like it.

Started Warm Bodies. It's kind of excruciating reading -- I hate apocalyptic scenarios, they're so scary -- but extremely good.

I finished a couple over the weekend:

Laced with Desire was a terrific anthology. The story by Joey W. Hill blew my mind. It was part of her Knights of the Boardroom series, which I've loved up to this point, but this story was so heart-breaking and achingly well-written. A truly great romance story. :) The others in the anthology were good, too.

I also finished Sex Party (Cowboy Sex, Bk 1) by Natalie Acres, which was completely ridiculous and had one of the most annoying "heroines" (if  you can even call her that) I've ever read.

I sat down and sped through more than half of Jeweled (Court of Edaeii, Bk 1) by Anya Bast yesterday. It reminds me a lot of Megan Hart's Solace series. Definitely entertaining and keeping my interest.

I just finished The Mage in Black by Jaye Wells and it was a pretty good UF. I thought it was a lot better than book one in the series. I plan on starting Strangers in Death by JD Robb.

Gina I have some sex camp ebooks - wonder if it's the same author - I couldn't make it too far into the first one I started...dunno if I'll try again. I did read a bit more of this erotica I got on ebook - abducted - forgot the author but she has a freebie 'conrad's first girl' and parts are um exciting but I'm not liking it much - dont' like conrad - I think he's psycho - he forces her to feel and do things and now has a guy being forced aloing with her...might need a shrink once I finish this sucker! IF I keep at it but something about it is fascinating in a way...anyways!

I now have 3 books going - all 3 will fit a RT challenge. I started Suddenly You (Lisa Kleypas I think) since it's ebook and will return ready or not in 2 days and I've kinda gotten into it and hope to finish before it vanishes! also still reading Zach's Law by Kay Hooper and Absolutely Positively by JAK - it's picking up a bit for me though I seriously doubt it'll be a favorite.

Yeah, I think she has four of them out right now. I'll keep reading and hoping that the characters (the heroines, at least, b/c I actually thought Kane was kinda sweet) get better. I DLed Conrad's First Girl last week from All Romance. Thanks for the warning!

I'm back from vacation, and was actually able to read 3 books during my trip!  We went to Montana to my cousin's in Whitefish, and I managed to read Mallery's newest, Only Mine, on the drive there.  I liked it- I actually think I liked it better than any of the previous 3 in the series.  Then I read Aussie Rules by Shalvis, and while it's not my favorite of hers, it was good.  Then read Love Drunk Cowboy by Carolyn Brown- new author for me.  It dragged in spots, but overall I liked it.

Now I'm on The Creed Legacy, and am hoping that the whole love/hate thing does not last for 3/4 of the book, because it's getting tired already just 3 chapters in.

Still reading The Legend Makers and really enjoying it but now I know that I've been reading wayyyy too much erotica and m/m. There is a love triangle and the two men went into the jungle to scout out an area and one was acting funny when they got back. My first thought was, oh goody, maybe there was some man on man action while they were away and knowing that they are both hot for the heroine, maybe some menage will happen, then it stuck me -doh, you're reading a straight romance, none of that going to happen *sigh*. That would make a really good erotica story though LOL.

I finished Bound, Branded and Brazen by Jaci Burton.  It was decent.  I liked Brea's story a lot, but Valerie and Jolene were so mouthy and brash that I couldn't really relate to them.  The men were all very hunky, though, and Burton can definitely write a sex scene!

I am still on my hot streak of reading really good books!  Just finished Shaking Off the Dust by Rhianna Samuels.  It was so good and what made it so good?  The hero. *sigh*  My DH is lucky I can't leave him for a fictional character! Takeshi was so hot, sweet, intelligent, caring, he could kill a man with his bare hands, but use those same hands to bring a woman to absolute completion. Yum. The book was written in first person which I am normally not keen on and it actually reminded me a lot of First Grave on the Right, so if you liked that book you'd definitely like this one!  But the book just worked for me and I love those stories (or tv shows etc) where a ghost (s) stay and help solve the crime.  The heroine got a little annoying in her insecurity with the hero and thinking she wasn't good enough for him, but she never crossed the line into TSTL.  (Even though it is published by Samhain publishing, it is not erotica, even though there are a lot of sex scenes.)

I read a little more of Suddenly You while trying to eat bbq - not an easy task even with an ereader! may have to get online tech support to see how to clean bbq sauce fingerprints off my ereader sad don't think it's that bad but I guess I should find out now how to clean the suckers just in case! went by library and 2 of the 3 books that were in transit were ready - maybe the other will be ready tonight if I venture out again. got Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison and the first ina  series by Ronie Kenig(christian military suspens/romance I'd heard was good - we shall see!) still reading Suddenly You, Zach's Law, and Absolutely Postiively and sneaking peeks at Abduction blush since I'm drawn to the sick ebook LOL!

think I may put in a movie and try to get a nap while it's still so hot and traffic is too bad to be out and about. or may just kill time on the computer LOL!

eta: tina that sounds like a good one!

My DH is lucky I can't leave him for a fictional character!

When I first read the Outlander books, I kvelled so much about Jamie that my Mother-in-law seemed actually concerned and kept reminding me of my husband's good points. ;-)

Susanna, do your library books just disappear? For the Nook, if you don't connect it, you can keep a library book after it's expired. Though I usually return them early because I am Conscientious!

I guess I'deventually have to connect it though for more books.

Neither heroine is a prostitute, but I guess the heroine of LSL could count as fallen, in that she's had a lover. Worth Any Price comes after LSL, so you're good.

Last night I finished All  Jacked Up by Lorelei James.  Loved it.  Keely and Jack were perfect, and there's nothing I love more than an enemies-to-lovers story.

Next I'm going to try reading Where Dreams  Begin by Lisa Kleypas.
