Under the general Mystery & Thriller category, there is a sub-genre called "Authors, A-Z."  Does anyone know what that means and why it is a choice under the genre?

No idea, unless it's just a way to search for a book using author's last name. I so rarely do broad searches anymore I haven't seen how the PBS thing works at all recently--usually I'm searching for a specific ISBN or title.

In all the genres, some of the most popular authors are available to be  listed under that sub-genre.  After you go to the alphapbet thingy, the popular authors come up.  And  yes, it's to search for particularly well-known authors.
