Reading Burned by PC and Kristin Cast. Tired of my daughter asking me if I've read it yet - she wants her book back lol

LOL Wendy.  Your comment about your daughter made me laugh.  laugh

Megan--I hate when a book ends right in the middle of a moment.  More than likely, I was already planning to read the next in the series--no need to torture me while I wait.  wink

I am still working on Swim the Fly.  I like it a lot but I am needing to read a couple of books for a swap (in case they get picked because I am not a fast enough reader to get them both done by the mail by date after everyone has made their pick).

Colleen I see you just finished Syren and Queste- what did you think of them? I read the first book of the series, but haven't moved on to the others yet.

I read them all back to back. I really enjoyed this series! I can't wait to read Darke. I think the series gets better as time goes on. You should definitely continue to read them. I love the snarkiness of Marcia!

Just finished Bright Young Things - I liked it alot!  Can't wait to read the next one and see where she takes the story.  I'm starting Boys, Bears, and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots next.

I just finished Infinity: Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon.  I really liked it.  The plot was a bit goofy at times, but it was interesting to read about Nick's life when he was younger...  Can't wait for the next one!

Finished Burned - Hated it!!! Hope she redeems herself in the next book.  But at least now my daughter can have her book back.  Not sure what's next - must consult the tbr :)

I finished Boys, Bears, and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots - very cute!  Loved the characters, and was sad that the book ended. I loved the outdoorsiness so much that I decided to read Sleepaway Girls next.  I LOVED summer camp!  Man, sometimes I miss those days.

I am in a total reading funk right now! I have only read 60 pages since last Friday. I just haven't been in the mood to read anything. Does that happen to anyone else?

Yes.  And its not that I don't like the books I am reading--I do.  But I am just not in the mood.

The weather is beautiful in Arizona right now, so it may be that I just have a little cabin fever from being inside so much all summer.  Now that it is nice I am doing more outside stuff.

Reading funk tends to happen to me when I have too many books that I have to read for swaps that might not have been my first choice as to what to read next....  like right now I am reading Not that Kind of Girl, and I thnk I would really like it, but since there was something else I wanted to be reading more, but need to get this one done for Cindy's swap, it is taking me forever!

That could be it too Jacki--I am in the process of reading some books I need to get back to friends as well.

Or it could also be that I am not finding anything that has really sparked me lately--nothing that took my breath away.  I like what I am reading, but I am not enthralled.  I think I need to find a book that really sparks my interest and imagination so I can get my momentum back.  Hmmm...

I finished Twelfth Grade Kills and it was really good!  I'm sad the series is over.  I really wanted to read it, so I don't think my reading funk was born from that.  I do agree though - I hate reading because I have to.  I usually have an easier time reading a book and enjoy it more when I'm not reading for a swap or something.

I'm not sure what's next.  I'll let the funk decide tomorrow. lol

My friend gifted me a copy of Monsters of Men yesterday!  I'm bribing myself with it - I'm going to run 5 miles, and then when I get home I get to spend the rest of the day reading. :)

5 miles?  It would have to be a heck of a good book for me to run 5 miles for it.  LOL

It's a bribe to get me moving.  5 miles was supposed to be yesterday's run. :)

(I'm training for a 5k currently, but have a half marathon in the future so I need longer runs to keep half marathon training from being so scary!  5 miles isn't actually that hard once you do it a few times.  I like running to places - last week I treated myself with hot Starbucks coffee! - but I'll just reward myself with a hot shower and a book today.)
