I'm hoping someone can help me out.  I've never had a problem with PBS until now.  I sent out a book in December.  I kept waiting for it to be marked received.  I always send my books out right away and make sure they are shipped correctly.  Hence, I was concerned that it was lost in the mail.

So last week I pm'd the person waiting for this book and asked if they received it.  I expressed my worry that it was lost in the mail.  She replied back stating that she received the book, read it and reposted it!  I pm'd back asking her nicely to mark the book received.  She didn't reply back so after a couple of days I pm'd her again asking her to please mark the book received.  She again didn't reply back and the book is still sitting in the que as undelivered.  In about a day or two it will be marked "lost in the mail."

I don't think this is fair for her to do.  Is there anyway I can report this?

I would report it to the administrator and let them view her email indicating she received the book, but refuses to acknowledge it in the system.  In my opinion, she shouldn't be allowed to continue to receive any more books while blatantly abusing other members.

Yes Avril, go to the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page and send a message to the site owners.  At least you have a PM as proof that the book was received.

And for her to not reply to the PMs you have sent her is very much against the rules.

Don't delete any of the PMs.  PBS can look at them and see what happened.  Let them know what book it was. If she reposted it here then they'll have a record of the book being on her shelf and sent out.  Sounds like she is trying to scam by letting the book go lost to get her credit back.  So definately report this to PBS.

Contact PBS staff. Something similar happened to me once and they were able to read the PM's and get things straightened out for me.

Doesn't really sound like a scam to me, as she didn't claim never to have received the book.  I'm thinking that perhaps she didn't read your message carefully, and didn't understand that it had never been marked "received."  Yes, she should respond to your PM's, as long as they are polite, which I'm sure they are.  And the PBS team can definitely sort it all out.

Also, don't worry about it going "lost."  Once she understands what's going on, she can mark it received from her transactions archive.

I agree that she is trying to scam you...it would still be showing up on her list as enroute to her until she marks it received or it goes lost...and I didn't look to find the exact quote but, it says somewhere that refusal to respond to Pm's is taken as an admission of guilt.  Strange though that she told you that she received it , read it, and posted it...strange situation indeed.

If the book goes lost, she gets her credit back. If she does this enough, I think the system will catch it, but you shoud report this to the admins using the "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page. The Help Center says that marking books received is a cardinal rule of PBS, so report it.

Ask her to mark it received... and if its not still showing for her on the En Route to Me tab, tell her to go to the Transaction Archive and find it there to mark it received.  That is where it goes if she doesn't mark it received in time.
