I ordered 2 books from someone only because of a forum post where they wanted to help someone else but needed credits to do so.  I only ordered these books to be helpful not because they where something I really wanted.  Mind you I was the first responder on the post and it was just a few minutes after the post was listed.  It's been quite a few days now and they have not been responded to.

Here is my dilemma.  I have to put my account on hold.  Since I don't have any dire need for these two books I don't want them rolling thru the system to the next person in fifo.  What are the rules or issues with canceling orders?  I just last week accidentally ordered two books from the wrong people and went back and canceled immediately then flip flop and ordered the correct books.  And was wondering does that cause you any kind of black mark so to speak when you cancel requests.

Personally I would never order 2 books I didn't want even to help someone else. I'd be more inclined to just gift them the credits so I wouldn't have 2 unwanted books to deal with.  But if I did-I'd cancel the request before it timed out.  Have you PM'd them to see if they are just waiting until the last moment to accept the requests?

I dont think your account being on hold will prevent them from rolling over to the next person.

I think you would only get a black mark if you cancelled a high number of requests for books you posted. But even then It would probably have to be quite a lot in a short period of time.

If there's still time then I would PM and let them know you will cancel on the last day to prevent them from going onto someone else.  If they are timing out today then cancel them.  Maybe PM to explain why you cancelled.

thanks for the idea of gifting the credits it never crossed my mind to do that.  I quess thats what makes these forum post so helpful it gives you alternative ideas.  Didn't mean to sound like I wouldn't read the books I would have and enjoyed them.  Its just they aren't high on the list of current interests.  I will wait till the last second to cancel if there is still no response.  I hadn't thought of the PMing  idea either.

thanks again for your thoughts and ideas.
