I ordered a book and the ISBN according to Amazon and Barnes and Nobel should be Large Print.  It doesn't say it is large print in the discription on PBS.  What do I do if it comes and it is not large print??  Here is the discription from amazon

  • Publisher: Harlequin; Lgr edition (April 13, 2010)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN-10: 0373783744
  • ISBN-13: 978-0373783748
  • Product Dimensions: 6.7 x 4.2 x 0.8 inches

This is the information from here

Dad's E-mail Order Bride (Alaska Bound) (Harlequin Superromance, No 1629)
Author: Candy Halliday
ISBN-13: 9780373783748

Since "large print" is not indicated on the PBS listing, if the one you receive is not large print you'll have to accept it as long as the ISBN is identical. With that said, since both Amazon and B&N are indicating large print, it's probably large print. You never know though. Publishers often use the same ISBN for different versions of the same book.

The isbn on Amazon for the regular book is different than the one they have listed for the large print.  So the isbn on PBS matches only the isbn on Amazon for the LP book.  Not sure then what would happen if you receive it and it is not large print...

The posting member only has to match what is in the PBS system so if it isn't indicated as a LP, then it doesn't have to be LP as long as Title, ISBN, Author and binding match.  You cannot RWAP a book for not being what Amazon and BN say it should be.

It does not look to me that the book is LP. What you have posted there says its the Harlequin Larger Print edition, that is not the same as Large Print. The Larger Print designation can be bigger than regular, but it doesn't have to meet the LP size requirement either. Larger Print books do not get the LP box checked on PBS because they do not meet the LP industry standard. The term Larger Print can be put in the title or description, but an edit to change the book listing to LP should be denied.

WorldCat does not indicate the book is Large Print, and they're usually pretty clear when it is.

If you want to be sure you only receive Large Print, you need to have a requestor condition to ensure it.

Thank you all for answering my question.  I just wondered because most of the time the book will say large print on the front cover, and the picture on here doesn't say it.  I will wait and see LOL

I can tell you with certainty that this ISBN: 0373783744 is NOT a Large Print book. It is a Larger Print book which is not the same thing and does not meet the industry standards for Large Print books as the font size is smaller than 16-point but larger than regular print books.

You mentioned that you checked with Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. I did, too and found that Amazon.com has it listed as a Larger Print book in the title line with the Larger Print cover image showing. While Barnes & Noble, doesn't have anything stating that this is a Large Print or a Larger Print book but it does have the Larger Print book cover. It can get confusing unless you know the difference.

A data edit and a correct cover image has been submitted to correct the confusion.
