The latest book I've received is Valley of the Dolls!  I have always wanted to read it because of it's reputation as the "mother" of all trash novels.  But I was nervous to read it, too, because I was certain it was really going to be bad.  But, surprise!, it's highly readable and actually quite a page turner.  So, yes, it's trashy, and yes it's "bad"--but in a good way!  It's very enjoyable---a hoot and a half!

The last book from here was The Tea Rose.  But the last book received in the mail from anywhere was Pillars of the Earth.  I got it on ebay for $7.50 including shipping.

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley - They say it's girlish, but I can't call myself a serious fantasy reader without at least giving it a try...

I got three today: Ambrose Bierce and the One-Eyed Jacks and Ambrose Bierce and the Trey of Pearls, both by Oakley Hall, and Ordeal By Hunger by George R. Stewart.

The new home page set-up has yielded many many new books for me to try, it's really been great to be able to browse so easily.

I got 2 books from the same person - PS I Love You by Barbara Conklin, and Andy Andie by Malle Valik.  Both were books that I had as a teen and were part of the collection my mom gave away when I was off in college.

Very excited to read PS I Love You and see if I still love it as much as I did then.

Andy Andie I had kind of forgotten about until I saw it in the same shelf with PS I Love You.

The Year of Fog :: Michelle Richmond

Am I the only one who receives a book, looks at the cover, and immediately moves it to the head of her "To Be Read" list? I do this all the time. There's some poor book at the bottom of my pile saying "BUT I WAS HERE FIRST!".  :-)

the Mabinogion.  I got it today right before work.  It's a good thing I read most of it 2 years ago, or I don't think I would have had the willpower to put it down and say, 'No...Must...Wait...Til...Later'  I know that once I pick it up, that'll be it for awhile.  I love mythology!

Just got Tipping the Velvet two days ago from PBS; stopped by the UBS on my way home yesterday and got Scandalmonger, Pilgrim, The Satanic Verses, The Boleyn Inheritance, and an extra copy of PIllars of the Earth to send to my godson in Kuwait.

My mom sent me an autographed copy of Lucille Clifton's poetry book, 'Mercy'. We saw her read last month, so this was particularly special to me.

I received 3 books today also. Tribute, A Nice Class of Corpse and Miss Melville Rides a Tiger.

Daphne, I loved Clan of the Cave Bear. Read all of them many years ago when they first came out.

The Journey by Billy Graham and Dear G Spot by Zane.  I requested them for a couple of folk in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The one that I'm excited about though, was one I received for me last week:  The Divine Comedies by Tom Holt.  I'm really looking forward to reading it!
