I was just looking at my WL and I've been on the WL for Wicked Sacrifice (Lora Leigh) since 8/17/08.  I still have a ways to go (#42) on that one.  I have a ton that I signed up for in 2008 that I'm nowhere close to the top of the list for.

What's the longest you've been on the Wish List for?

(Can you tell I'm bored today?)

since I joined in aug 2008.  But I keep changing my WL.  I go through it weekly to make sure if I have bought or read something, or simply lost interest in an author, I remove the books in question.  that keeps things moving.

I've had The Notorious Rake by Mary Balogh on my WL since June 2007. I'm #14 of 87. Getting there!

I'm like Pamela.  I switch around on books I want depending on my interest.  But currently I have threo on my WL shelf; one I'm 1 of 1 on and the other 6 of 6.  On the third I'm 76 of 76.

 Hurt's so Good (1 of 1)

Asking for It (6 of 6)

The Hottie Next Door (76 of 76)

The Portal :: Jaid Black, Treva Harte, Jordan Summers
ISBN-13: 9781843603924 - ISBN-10: 1843603926 - Book Type: Paperback
Wish Date: 6/9/2008 - Your position: 34 of 57 - Estimate: N/A

Often if I have been on forever I just take it off and buy it. But I was surprised to see this was my oldest. I actually have 6 books that I wish listed in 2008.

I have 10 on my WL going back to fall of 2007 and another 20 or so from 2008.  Some of those I probably could have gotten fairly cheap on ebay or used on Amazon but I have a huge TBR so I don't mind waiting.

There's still a couple from when I joined in the fall.  Not bad.

Just looking thru my wl this morning.  For goodness sake, the wl for the new LaNora Bride Quartet-Savor the Moment-has over 500 wishers.  A huge "thank you " to those  of you keep us updated on new books so we don't get buried!

I've had Not That Innocent  by Sherrilyn Kenyon/Kresley Cole on my wishlist since 11/2007.  Sometimes I just end up buying the book if its been that long, the list isn't moving or I'm buried at #200.  Right now I've got about 25 books that I'm either #1 or in the top 5 to receive soon - almost all of them have been on there for a long time.  Some, thanks to these threads, I was able to get in on early for the waiting list.    If I get a gift card I usually end up buying those that I've been waiting for the longest.

That's my oldest book, too! I wished it on my first week on PBS (4/12/08) and now I'm #25. I really hope you lend it to me if you get it, Rose! :P

the first books i put on my WL, the ones i joined to try to get, i eventually gave up after a year or so and bought because the lines just weren't moving.

If I ever get it, DG, I'll pass it to you when I'm done! I'll put a note on it so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. ;)

I was so intrigued by the summary and title that I went and bought this...What a disappointment.  The stories are supposed to be interconnected but it was done very raggedly and some didn't even make sense to me.  I put it out and some poor soul got it as their wish list.  IMHO the book isn't worth the wait.  Just one woman's opinion.

As to a waiting time, I keep my WL right around 197or so and the oldest now is only two years.  But that is because when I WL a book I enter a note as to my position and date and then whenever I check on it again, I update the note with the new position and date.  That way if something is just "sitting there" I can reevaluate whether I want to move it off/purchase it to make room for some new goodies.

My oldest is a copy of Swan Song (horror)--I joined in Nov 05--the book  has been on my list since 7-06 and I'm #3 of 32.  Last posted copy was 4-7-09:lol:    Then I've got one from 2007, a Lilith St. Crow book and a couple from 08--seems like the rest are 09/10.  Not too shabby!

I was able to remove a book too--hc of Men of the Underworld--bought the paperback today:lol:

7/30/2007 - a crochet book that I wanted but not enough to go out and buy  new...several times debated taking it off esp since I haven't even attempted any crochet in over a year but every time I think I will I leave it then I'm interested in it again!

the longest romancebook is The Twelve Quickies of Christmas and I'm finally at  #3.

I usually break down and buy the stuff but there are several on my wl that are OOP and too expensive used.

Greenwood by Sue Wilson, 2-22-2008  This is the only book left on my WL that I put on there in 2008.  I started out at #2 and I'm still second in line.

My second oldest is One Was A Soldier by Julia Spencer-Fleming, 4-12-2009.  It was supposed to be released this month but they just announced that it has been pushed back a year.

I have 4 books from '06 - they're OOP & too expensive used.  No copies have ever been posted. (Jayne Castle/Jayne Bentley's MacFaddens)

1 from '07 that I'm #1 on the list

2 from '08 that I'm at #2
