On the Intent to Homeschool form do you use your name or have you named your homeschool and does the word homeschool have to be in the name???  I have always used my name but dd and ds have suggested we name our homeschool.  Just wondering, any ideas???  Thanks

You don't have to use homeschool in the name.

A couple I've heard of are White Academy (their last name) & Big Oak School (named after the road they lived on).

Have fun naming your school.

Thanks, I think a mascot is a great idea!  I'll let my dd and ds read this one!

I don't have to file for my kids for another 2 years (Dd won't be 8 until 2010), and we plan to move to a state with basically no regulations before that happens but, OH, how I would be tempted to fill it out with some sort of provocative name, lol.

"Better Than Bricks"

"Hapie Homskule"

"Unsocialized U"

"The Closet on the Left"

or simply use the number for child services.

Oh, that sounds like fun!!!!  :)

We call ours Bates Brook Academy, since we live next to the brook of that name.  We don't usually use it for anything official, though.

well, we call ours ABC at Home (like my nickname on most everything!)....at first it was for our initials (mind and the two boys are A, B, and C) and I am a SAHM, so I went with 'at home'...but then we started homeschooling and it sorta changed meanings a bit.  But now, I use the ABCatHome part to also come up with our mission statement:  "ABC:  The building blocks of life begin at Home"

Hmmm....a mascot...not sure about that one! LOL My kids will bring home every stray and add it to our colleciton and soon our mascot will be a zoo!

You  all are very creative!  I think maybe we are going to have to be more creative with our name!  It sounds like a fun way to begin our school year...thinking of a name.

Thanks so much for all the ideas!  We have decided on Trinity Academy !  My dd is in High School and wants something that sounds official for her transcript and we are using a Christian Based Curriculum.
